    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Looked at this kid a few times....dam stamina. Since the version change Pawtucket really struggles with these players.

Pawtucket signs C Dave Foshee as our back-up catcher. We are still working on another player who seems to be on and off.

Season ticket sales already exceeding last seasons. Owner has us projected 118ml next season and fairly certain we might see another increase right around spring training.

As for free agency we have a one or two big names targets , but we are choosing to lay low for now.

Second Career As Broadcaster Awaits Retiring Guerrero
        Thursday, January 18th, 2024
Seattle closer Edwin Guerrero says he has decided to retire from playing baseball in order to begin a career in the broadcast booth. Coaches and teammates have always considered Guerrero to be highly intelligent and articulate. "He's a smart guy and he knows a lot about the game," said Pilots bench coach Cesare Dore. "He should do very well as a broadcaster." Team officials have confirmed that Guerrero will be invited to sit in as color commentator during local broadcasts next season. If all goes well, they said, he may eventually be elevated to the position full-time.

We sign Monk to close. He will eventually be replaced by Hurley. For now Hurley can debut as an MR. Lukomski will get an opportunity to beat out Ron Dennehy or Leslie Radcliffe in CF.

Other than that we are just gonna wait and see who else can step into a rotation spot or the middle of our lineup. If the costs don't work we'll promote some of our AAA guys and save our $ for the season.

Made a couple of signings to fill my open spots in the infield. With that done, I'm feeling ok with my lineup and depth charts. I'll have to hope a couple young guys step up, but I think we're solid.

I've still got a little bit of money I could spend if something falls in my lap, but this might be it for this offseason.

We've signed Jimmy Stough to round out our crusade of finding shitty RHP who could possibly be decent relievers. We've added Stough, Coffman, Zhang, Helton, Krah and Luján to Eaton, Lintz, Barney for a spring training battle royale of who can possibly suck the least. Hopefully 7 guys step up to keep their ERAs under 4.............(.30) for the season. Think that'll be it for the offseason. We'll roll out Murray/Sepulveda/Conlee/McCormick/Fallon as our rotation. ...that should keep us competitive and we'll have to rely on that bag of dicks in the pen to try and not suck too much. The lineup looks solid, barring an offer for the big boys we'll go with

                  S Kelly SS
                  L Girard C
                  R Webber DH
                  L O'Hearn RF
                  R Cook 3B
                  L Corr 1B
                  R Gurley 2B
                  L Zimmer LF
                  R Heckman CF

The lineup shouldn't be an issue, expecting the H/R splits to be what they usually are and it should give us a nice offensive squad again. Battle Royale number two will be Seth "Long" Johnson and Tommy Corr for first base. Let's see if JJ's eval of Corr as goldy can come to fruition.
