    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Looks like some personnel got signed, doesn't look like any FA's signed.

Well when we went from 2 weeks to 1 week we knew that nobody would sign. It's all about offers and counteroffers for the first two SIMs now.

Just boring. Really drained the excitement from FA.

I understand the sentiment but I still prefer boring, especially when it means the rest of free agency is less boring than it was before.

Has the HTML not been updated Matt? Or is it just slow crawling right now? At work is why I'm asking.

As for free agency. Its mix emotions for me. In reality there are ALWAYS big signing in the first few days and then there are the ones who wait for a bidding war to break out. Just happens to swung the other way now. That being said FA 2 is generally when the action begins. Kind of use to it by now even if Funclown hasn't been a big player in free agency this past decade.

There is merits for both sides on this. Do you "overshoot" when making the first bid (old version) where today you kind of come in more cautious. Sometimes your don't even bid on the guy you truly want til FA 2.

I think this way drives up prices a bit on the more "middle" players and or Intl free agents since the prices on the top guys ask way way too much to start out and drop over time. Do we actually prefer this? Not so sure. If you got Intl superstars this new way is for sure the best way to go. When the crop of Intl players is "eh" yes its very boring.

It definitely prolongs FA in the aspect that there are more signings down the road which is nice. It also offers a little realism in that you aren't just outbid right off the bat.

If we want to speed it up then just do 1 day SIM's for all FA. In all honestly 2 days between the first few FA stages aren't really needed anymore.

This. Too much dead time now.
