Pitching and defense is not gonna work with this version, you need to be like Pittsburgh and KC putting tons of runs in the scoreboard. We went from 100+ Ws and 2 Rings to NO play offs whatsover after the change with almost the same players.

Adapt or die, get hitters, hitters, hitters!!!

        Thanks Brad!

Sommabitch! I went 4-2 this week and against two great teams.
My September call-ups played a little too good.

Grady Wente went off hitting .400, with 4 homeruns!
I drafted him 22nd overall in 2020 and he looked like a good pick at the time. Then his ratings started taking hits and I figured he may end up a career minor league.
That could still be a very real possibility, but he sure looked like a major leaguer this week.

Ricky Alejo also had a solid debut, hitting .286 and providing solid defense with a +1.5 ZR in CF.

Damian Pratt didn't fair as well compared to his two other AAA brethren. He only hit 1.85 and was a - in the field, but I'm still hopeful this 2012 3rd round pick will become a solid BLB OFer.

Also tried a switcheroo with a couple of my young pitchers.
Khalil Corey got the nod as a starter this week and got the win with 7.0 IP, 2 ER, 5K and 1 BB.

Fromer first rounder, SP Joey Gelinas, was placed in the CL position. He got shelled in his first venture from the pen (2ER's in 0.0 innings), but settled down in his next two appearances with 1.2 IP, 0H, 0R and two saves.

I've also noticed another troubling trend for my pitching staff... Far too often we allow runs the inning after scoring runs... It seemed like every game in the Toronto series, when we scored in the top of the inning, they scored in the bottom of the same inning... This has been going on for a while now in California... We just can't get a shut down inning when we need it.

Roman's BABIP luck (or lack thereof) is pissing me off. Really bad time to fuck around like this.

                On paper its so scary.

Pawtucket 2-4. Nice time to drop a turd after going 16-11 during a much more difficult schedule. I almost didn't want to bring anyone up for fear I'd mess up chemistry.

We need to figure out Syr. 4-6 this year against them. We have one week to figure this out or why even bother making a playoff push.

Stale roster maybe. Pitching and defense actually got us in position to even make a playoff run. Sure aint our hitting. Its draw walks and the long ball with our club.

We signed 25-year-old outfielder Dave Sliney to a four-year, $40 million contract extension. Excited to have him in Maine for a while. A 4 WAR player this year thanks in large part to his terrific defense since moving to left field. He started strong at the plate, too, though he's tailed off along with the rest of our club's descent. If he can hit like he did earlier in the season, we have a star. If not, we still have a good player.

Clemons aside, the foundation of my team is my bullpen and defense.

Our offense is actually down from last year. I credit our success this year to improving our infield defense with the addition of Pelloni and properly training Corbett to play 3B.

You are also leading the league in runs per game by a wide margin...

I always get my hopes up for a huge week when we come home, but 4-2 will do just fine. Won both series against Windy City and Death Valley and our division lead still looks strong.

Pretty good week at the plate for us, hitting .338 as a team. Just unfortunately we had a couple rough outings that ended in L's.

With the rosters expanded, a couple young guys are getting their first cracks at the BLB. I'll be watching Dave Blackmon and TJ Mayfield to see what they do down the stretch, since both will hopefully be important players here in the future.

Just not a good year. -9 PYT and my bullpen is atrocious.

Good thing is I won't be in the playoffs and we can Live SIM them again!
