4-2. McPherson played well in his return to Denver. Pulido got hurt 2 innings into his debut but should be fine for his next start.

    We will take it.

Pawtucket 4-3 all on the road. Had a rather easy go at it with Maine , but then Pitt again. We simply don't match up with Pitt. Its ok, we are done with them for the season.

Moving on. Weird seeing Hartford having this swoon again. #rosterdna?

          Thanks, Brad.

I think Tom Mackey ruined our season.

I finally released him shortly after we snapped a 14 game losing streak and I received messages about how thrilled everyone was that he was finally gone.

            Thanks Brad.

Two more blown leads by the bullpen...21 losses for them now. 12-17 in one run games. Sometimes the dice rolls just aren't friendly.

3-0 @ Phoenix, 1-2 @ Davenport - One game back of Batavia and Baltimore for the wild card.

Lost CF Nick McLaughlin for two weeks with a hamstring strain and the injury has already cost me one game. He got hurt during probably his best game of the season (3/4, 2B, RBI), which forced 3B Donnie Benoit to LF, where he gave up the winning run on an error in the 12th of a 7-7 game. He's a poor hitter regularly but he leads the BLB in defensive efficiency in CF and if he gets enough reps he will probably bring home the DWI.

RF Garrett Bidwell has been a nice surprise hitting .324/.823 in August after returning from is rehab stint in Triple-A. We have been searching for consistency in RF for about two full seasons now so hopefully he can keep it up.

I'm afraid John LaForge's tenure as Guides manager has probably ended. His contract expires at the end of the season. With the way the last six weeks have gone, well ...

A 5-2 week against Philly and Baltimore keeps us cruising along in first place. I'm still expecting someone to make a run at this, but we're up 12 games at the moment and seem to be in good shape. First in the IL in runs scored and runs allowed.

The lineup is being carried by the two Dave's right now, Seibert and Schneider. Seibert is having a career year at the plate while still doing his normal DWI quality work in the field. Schneider has shaken off a terrible start and has been red hot for the past month and a half.

We did lose Milt Dearborn for the season last sim. He hasn't played too much, but he's done really well as a backup OF, so it's a bit of a loss. I called up Alexis Moran to take his spot, making him the second prospect from the 2022 draft to play in the BLB.

We get Tom Calligan back now, he's been out the past three months. I've still got too many pitchers (especially now), so if someone wants a starter let me know. I'd guess either Calligan or Honea could be a good rental for someone (at least), if I get a decent offer.

Ive really enjoyed seeing the emerging coaching carousel that has evolved in the BLB. Coaches no longer feel like placeholders anymore.

Adding relationships and removing the ratings for coaches helps. There's a lot more ambiguity now.

I feel like Rutledge isn't the best option for us. But he's built such a good relationship with the players, I'm in a tough spot.

He's going to cost a good amount of money to keep. I could let Mueller become manager. Players love him too. But that means building a new bench coach.

I like that we have to make these decisions now.

4-2 and we are just a game back of both Philly and Denver to get a spot for a home playoff series. There is still a long way to go but it is nice see us still competing, even with the injuries that are starting to add up. Following Marrero on the DL now, is 1B DJ Gosser and OF B.J. Lumkowski. It is frustrating to see Gosser hurt as he had shaken off two months of early rust and had been looking like his normal self since the All-Star break (.339/.426/1.042).

CJ Stripling has won two of the last 4 IL POW Awards and has an IL leading, 10 home runs since the break. We had been waiting for his power to peak and it looks like he is turning it up now. It would be nice if he had some help but unless DJ has completely found his swing, I think we only go as far as Stripling takes us.

I saw a bunch of trade announcements so far today....

In game I got an e-mail on 8/12 saying the trade deadline had passed. It says the same on the league events page as well.
