    Thanks Brad!

    --

Quite a few injuries this sim in the BLB....

Seattle escapes the injury bug to go 3-3 against WC/DAV. Still hanging around in the wild card race...
    Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
    Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

      Thanks, Brad.

This stretch is one of the worst I can remember having in the BLB.

We lost fourteen in a row before taking the last two at Los Angeles.

We have the run differential of a 58-51 club, but we have a 52-57 record now.

Another lousy sim in California and another lousy week for the bullpen...

Two leads blow in four of the losses. Oh yeah, and hard luck Dan Bradford watches his offence get 10 hits and shut out, only to lose 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth.

I guess 3-4 against the Murderer's Row of Dallas and Montreal shouldn't be too disappointing.

It looks like Bottom Bear is screwing up his tank for the second year in a row... 1.2 is not that same as 1.1.

Did anyone really believe that was a fire sale? Not Funclown. Also, that does happen alot in the game.(Winning streak after a trade)

Pawtucket 2-4. So we cooled off Hartford taking 2 of 3. Feeling great coming into August....then Pitt comes in and takes a giant shit in our backyard.

To be honest, we were kind of due. Still, exposed our hitting issues and we will make adjustments. Wanzer most likely spends a bit more time in AAA until September and old man Perkins will re-enter the lineup and draw walks. In the end we pitch and play good defense. Its who we are now.

No one ever said this will be easy.

Anti effect of acquiring key players. Next sim you'll be fine.

Can't wait to bring Murphy to the BLB in few SIMs... 5.4 WAR, 17HRs and 6 defense at 1B. He is really hot right now.

Wanzer made me feel warm and fuzzy also...but this versions rookies struggle. (16 hrs .334 AAA) No easy way but to grin and bear it. Seems 26+ they seem to get it.

Agreed! Development seems to take a lot longer... Which is how most prospects seem to move anyway...

Its very much so more realistic.

I'll be the first to admit when this new version came out I was SO anti. As time goes on I rather enjoy:

the year to year variation (why good teams suck suddenly or horrible stretches despite all the blue bars and what not)
the rating is more vague (6-5-5, 5-6-5 use to be #2/3 starters now most arent very good),
the prospects bombing more often or "overhyped".......
even prospects who seem developed and kicked ass in the minors go thru this unknown time period where they don't seem to get til one , two or even three full seasons once they get called up.

defense still makes little sense to me, but i'm learning.

I think us veteran GMs needed this kick in the pants. Kind of a drag to just roll out the template on it works.

I completely agree! It seems much more realistic in so many ways.

You only have to look at a team like the Boston Red Sox to see that the learning curve does not trend upward quickly and forever. Guys like Mookie Betts and Xander Bogearts looked like a young Nomar Garciaparra and Mike Trout a year or two ago, and now they trend more towards being really good and not hall of fameish.

Even a guy like Aaron Judge, took years to develop with middling stats before unloading on any and all pitchers this year.

I think not having all of the answers from year to year has made the game more fun... more frustrating at times... but way more fun.

It's also nice to see different teams fighting for playoff spots, and other perennial teams on the outside looking in.

But, you're right... I have no idea how guys go from being really good defensively their first three years (Ron DeCicco) to being completely middling the next.
