I think I mentioned it at the time, but I was much more reluctant to give up Langford in that trade. My scout just kept liking him more and more every time I got an update.

Well, all my OF in AAA got injured, same for Biezcek or whatever the spelling is, some of them are clear September call ups / ST training.

I love to not be bothered anymore of rushing players up the system quick. Really nice to have prospects fully developing and getting ready for the BLB call, being mediocre is not that bad.

I hope the bad contracts finish soon so I can start building the team up again, in 50 years or so. Good thing I only owe one more 1st Round pick next year, that will be it then.

Some good news on this front. Like you I traded away numerous first rounders also to stay competitive last decade which generally use to be catastrophic long term. In this version though first rounders while still important aint the end to be all when it comes to team building. Second, third even forth rounders can be just as good. Don't get me wrong 1st especially top 2 or 3 still tend to be your superstars, but I've been using strength in number (multiple 2nd and 3rds) and least so far in this latest rebuild has turned out successful.

Granted just might not end up like the superstar team of old, but you can never afford those types of teams anyway now. Keep to farm filled and rotate stock is the way of things now.

Whats funny is the "MLB" for the most part employs our old style of team building. In the NL for example you had a handful of teams "going for it" while basically the rest are fielding a ..ummm AAAA team and stocking up prospects.

Neat the way financials (slot drafting, intl players money, no salary cap) shifted the MLB. Use to be high roller teams that ruled the world a few decades ago. (Except the Cardinals)
