2-4. We never win in Baltimore, so I don't know why I'd expect to get a W there this time either, and it didn't happen. They're great at home and had the better pitcher going in each game, so it was a tough series. We did bounce back with a series win in Carolina.

Still need the offense to get going. Yonke seems to be either red hot or ice cold this season, and the latter is the case right now. Just too many cold streaks from my lineup to think we can compete with the big boys this season.

Also, can I request that minor league cuts be postponed until Monday's sim?
Yes, thanks for the reminder: A Ball rosters back to 30 by Monday's SIM, please!

Updated the first post with a "DL Report" section. This is a first pass, so please if you see someone on the list that you don't feel belongs there don't take offense. At this point the criteria is anyone who was eligible to come off the DL after the previous SIM but still shows to be on the DL after the most recent SIM. As we build up more archived DL history that criteria may change (lookback period may be extended to 2 or 3 SIMs rather than just 1 to give more time to make moves).

Again, first pass so if you see something, say something.

        Thanks!

Offense is really struggling right now. We go 3-3 in a week where we barely score 2 runs a game.

3-0 vs. Davenport, 1-2 vs. Denver

We are playing better baseball but I feel like we are the 7th maybe even 8th most talented team in the IL. Batavia won't be held down long. Seattle will need some lucky breaks in the second half to return to the post-season.

Journeyman SP Tom Richards threw his best game as a pro at 31. OF Manny Nieto is red hot since moving to the #3 spot in both lineups. P Edwin Guerrero picked up a save in his return to Seattle.

Maybe it's too small a sample size but learning new positions is one thing about this game that's kind of strange. TJ Corbett was a '4' at 3B last year, played 84 games there and didn't improve at all. He had a dreadful season in the field and I thought he was destined to be a DH. I played him there exclusively in ST and he went from a '4' to a '6' so is now a good 3B? Just weird that he learns more in a few ST games than in half a season playing the position last year.

                2022 Kansas City - ML 3B 84 84 46 134 10 205 25 .878 749.0 2.16 -16.3 .867
                2023 Kansas City - ML 3B 74 74 30 158 11 193 5 .974 632.0 2.68 +8.5 1.071

I believe that the game manual does say that players learn positions more quickly in ST.

Noticed Xavier Milledge, despite no defensive ratings at 2B, doesn't even have a rating listed at 2B anymore desptire his defensive ratings. When he played for me last season, his positional rating was there.

liquidcrash is correct. Players learn positions much more quickly in spring training. It also might be true that Corbett was really close to getting a five rating last year, so he didn't gain two whole points in spring training so much as maybe he gained more like 1.25 or 1.5 points and it was enough to get him to a six.

We have the 3rd best team ERA but 8th best starters' ERA (this is Z's cue to come hate on this post). I'm guessing we don't lose a lot of games late. Hired a couple of guys I thought were AAAA types to our bullpen and they seem to be working out well.

Your rotation looks talented and like they are throwing pretty well. It seems like bad luck and inconsistent defense earlier in the year are bloating their ERAs a little.

Pawtucket 2-4. Not much to say other then we scored 1 run in three of our losses.

Were above .500 still and more and more we look like our predictions to start the season off. Keep pressing on I guess.

Special sim this week for Tom Wright as he collected his 2 000 BLB hit. Too bad Denver didn't bring him up until he was 25 or he could be approaching 3 000. It is incredible how well this guy has aged.

9 years of 28+ home runs, including an astounding 46 in his age 37 season last year.

He has been an absolute beast in California this last month as we try to work out of our season long funk.

Hopefully he can hold up for 2+ more seasons...
