The computer AI continues to frustrate me... There is no way in hell, regardless of settings, that a manager with a fully rested bullpen would sent a middle reliever out to the mound for a third inning, yet alone a fourth inning. My manager's handling of the pitching staff borders on completely moronic most of the time...

Game one this week we use one of our better bullpen arms for a second inning and 40+ pitches with a second run lead.

Game two this week, we through out Brown for a fourth inning through the heart of the other team's order... Can't believe that didn't work.

I guess it's the frustration of having a manager with settings that you can't change.

This is just like watching John Farrell pile up losses for the Red Sox... One confounding decision after another!

Pawtucket 4-2. Small rebound. Lager lower teams tend to give you a nice boost.

As for the draft SP Louie Sumski debuted at #24 which took the sting a bit out of Seattle's kid debuting at #10 with our first rounder. Loved the players we got in this draft. Our system isn't may not be as star studded as some above us, but its probably the deepest system we've had in a real long time featuring something at each position with maybe bullpen arms being our strong point?

Future budget is also projecting higher now. We might not be good enough right now for any playoff push, but the arrow is finally pointing north.

Game three... Morlan blows and save... and... we put him out for the next inning... when four guys in my pen haven't pitched in a week... Honestly, a little league kid would have this team in first place... I'm not sure what the computer uses for AI decisions, but it clearly doesn't take into account any rationale baseball ideas... WTF?!

Game four... We extend Brown for 2+ innings... This can't honestly be real... Perhaps there is a setting (I can limit the number of pitches, but that's hard to predict vs. innings) I am not aware of to limit the number of innings ... Any sensible manager takes the two quality innings and uses Ingle (although he struggled) because he has;t pitched in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-5, all games decided by two runs or less. Bullpen lost every game.

On the bright side, still on pace to improve month-to-month: April (.421), May (.500), June (.529). If this trend continues we should be able to sneak into the Wild Card in late September/early October....but we haven't put together a streak of "good baseball" for longer than maybe a week.

Thanks Brad! Rookies entered! SP Eliott Paul debuts the highest at #10. Biggest surprise would have to be SP Louie Sumski debuting at #24 despite being drafted 1.21 or the fact that a lot of high picks didn't make the top 100. Not that the list means what it used to...

Game six... A clearly struggling Colin Robbins goes out, double, then walk, out... then you guessed it... let it ride... three runs scored on two more hits, even though his stamina is four and his setting is set to pull out early...

It looks like Swartwart rarely makes it out of the 6th. I'd guess he doesn't have stamina to be an 8 inning starter.

Brown is normally a pretty good pitcher but is struggling a bit this year. The way Morlan is pitching, I wouldn't throw him out there either.

                    Remember Tom Mackey?

He threw 8+ shutout innings in each of his last two starts.

We need a center fielder but it hasn't hurt us and there's no one I want to replace right now.

Feel like a big outfield bat would do wonders but really hesitant to mess with the chemistry.

Also, we've been stocking up on arms specifically for moments like this. Down are Davis and Gotschall.

Choi will step in for Gotschall. Johnson has done well as the closer but we will give him Davis's start.

I don't mean to sound like an ass here but why don't you fire your manager if you don't like the job he is doing?

Because I'm still playing with the misguided belief that finances matter...
