  • Pawtucket has an early 4th and two 5ths and still see some kids. This part of the draft has actually become somewhat important.

Someday we plan on being good again and need to train myself at nailing these rounds.

I have a list, but I'm not sure I want to be that weird guy that actually makes a pick.

          • RF Jaylin Richardson had been at the top of my board since 3.13. Almost got him.

He was the last player on my first pass draft list. Almost took him with my first pick at 6.14.

Very happy to have him. Can he field? Probably not, but that won't matter since no one's going to be able to catch the 40 homers a year he'll be hitting, either.

My scout has him 78655. I'm pretty sure he's going to be wrong when you factor in the multiple shoulder injuries and very low work ethic. He set the HS record for walks in a season in 2021 though. Can he field? He somehow won the DWI for RF this year.

Great boom/bust pick. He'll either be a great player or probably out of your farm system before he's 21.

                    • With my first pick of the fourth round (pick 4.15), I've gone with Geoff Schminkey, a catcher from Florida State. He's been high on my list for a while now, so I'm glad to get him here. My scout and OSA are both pretty high on his hitting ability and unlike my last pick he has a definite position. I think I've got some good talent at catcher in my system, but couldn't pass up Schminkey. He hasn't quite put together a great season on the field yet, but he was doing very well this year before a late season swoon.

I've got one more pick in the 4th, so hopefully another player at the top my list will fall a bit more.

                      • I'm not going to have the time to draft my later picks like normal.

If anyone wants 7.15, 8.15, 9.15 and 10.15, I'd move them all for a pick in the late 4th or early 5th.

How about an 8th?! Come on, you need to trade something for that 8th of mine.

                            I don't want your dirty 8.
