Do you know why I show 7.4 war on the draft pool screen, but his player card has 4.8?

          • Pawtucket goes pitching at #21 Louie Sumski, lefty.

Not a thrilling pick by any stretch, but felt like the safest pick. Scout before my new one had him at 7-7-6, This scout a 6-6-6. OSA a 6-5-7. Already an actual of 4-5-5 at age 20 so won't take a ton of PD to get him there.

Better 2022 versus 2023 which can be considered a red flag, he's a still a two time NCAA allstar and voted 3rd as an Outstanding pitcher in 2022.

We are razor thin with Lefty starters. I looked at a few others, but sometimes just best to stay safe.

He's one of the best pitching prospects in the draft.

I like him. Was considered highly at 1.15 before deciding to trade down.

                      I like the pick.

OSA doesn't like Horton's control but I'm sure your scout did. If his control is even average, he could be a really, really good pitcher.

                      • Sumski is a lefty?!? No wonder I had him on the top of my list! Went with Purvis instead, which I'm okay with. Totally whiffed on realizing his was a lefty when my pick came up.

I had SP Eliott Paul (1.5) only slightly better than Purvis (1.16) and Sumski (1.21), so getting them both 10+ selections later I think is great value.

His numbers are bananas- I'm happy with the CPU pick. Apologize for slowing down the draft. Loaded up ~20 picks in my autodraft.

I've got plus prospects at CF, SS/2B, 3B, and SP. Hopefully getting an elite 1B will set me up for the future nicely as we rebuild. In 2-3 years, I may have the best offense in the history of my franchise ideally.

                              • We added three prolific college-level hitters in the first round of this draft. I feel eager to bring them into the Guides organization and see what they can do.
