Pick is in but I don't feel great about it. Apologies for the long delay. I didn't even start looking at my draft list until late last night and the baby has been non-stop for about the last 24 hours. I've become everything I hated and I'm genuinely sorry.
I went with SP Eliott Paul out of ASU. He's the #2 prospect in NCAA (above "Pickles") and #1 on the NCAA Top 20 pitchers. I'm encouraged that he's still only 19 (20 on June 12th), while other top SPs in this class (Davenport, Horton, Purvis, Sumski, etc) all turn 21 before the BLB season ends. He also has one of the highest velocities (97MPH) and groundball (61%) of any SP in the class as well. I'm hopeful his high work ethic and younger age will produce a better stamina then OSA/my scout currently project (4). I've never been a fan of low stamina SPs but when looking at the other SPs, I just felt like Paul's ceiling was slightly higher than the rest.
I wanted to go hitter with the pick but just couldn't put my finger on one that stood above rest of the group. This new OOTP is a whole new ball game. I feel like picking 5th or picking 15th, might not make much of a difference, while in previous versions if a team jumped up from back half of the 1st to the top 10, people would riot.
I pick again at 1.15 and hopefully one of the hitters I was considering at 1.5 is still there. I won't be surprised.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Plus, you were here like the whole time. It's not like you totally disappeared and showed up at the last minute or not at all.Maine Guides

No worries Pat!
And for what it's worth, I really liked Eliot Paul too (didn't want to type just "Paul" as I didn't want our GM Paul to think I like him. I don't.)
There are so many players in this draft that could be all-stars, but all of them outside of PIckles, have red flags.
After him, I'm not sure anyone can make a solid claim that there were any other players worthy of a top-5 pick.

As Pat stated some years you will see some slight separation between the top 3 or 5 while some seasons like this one 2-20 & 21-50 feels about the same. Its actually good if you want to prevent tanking.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

I've mentioned this several times, but this SO beats other versions having 14-17 clear cut prospects , followed by 15 "eh" players followed by "this guy sucks" by mid 2nd round. Even if its just false hope its a welcome change and one thing for sure this version did correctly.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

It seemed like in past versions, getting a top-10 pick was a lock for an all-star player.
Now, ... not so much.
There's a lot more randomness and guess work involved - just like real life.
Ken Griffey JR is the only 1st overall pick to be indicted into the HoF. That tells you how random, lucky, mysterious drafting baseball talent is.
I don't want the BLB to be that harsh, but I think OOTP 17 is a perfect middle ground.Brewers League Baseball
