    Next SIM Wednesday 9/6

League file is up. HTML and Utility in process

Files due by 7am ET | 4am PT

    Stat of the Day!

    Wed 9/6 - Opening Day

    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history

We need rosters settled at all levels for the next SIM.

Please make sure anyone on your BLB roster has been added to the 40 man roster (Spring Training invites that make the big squad still have to be added if they weren't already on your 40).

16-12 Spring (if I'm adding right. Don't have the game in front of me)

I'll take it. Offense did great and starters were solid. Pen was eh but I think we will find the right role for guys we plan to keep up.

Dusty Thompson appears to be ready ready. My scout says so. OOTP says so. The spring stats say so. I think it's safe to promote this 22-year-old and hand him the 2B job. Ichikawa will take over centerfield.

Damn... I just realized I started the clock on a bunch of rookies by putting them on my BLB roster by mistake and not my Spring Training roster... Oops!

Nice to see the Exports dominance over the Sharks occurs in Spring Training as well.
Sharks, please do what you can to beat me more often this year. I did everything I could to lose to you and still I found a way to play Tummy Sticks with you behind the woodshed.

I know they got a little mention in the BLB Confidential but watch out for Davenport this season.

Seattle finishes the spring 14-14, with 3B RJ Cheek returning from the DL in three weeks. The biggest surprise was the pitching as it appears a lot of the youngsters have improved from 2022. I don't think the rotation or bullpen will be a strength but if they can just be around league average, we should have a winning record.

The only position battle in the filed was in Right Field, and it's still unanswered. 25-year-old Garrett Bidwell played OK (.679 OPS in 69 PA), but his BB:K ratio of 1:20 leaves a lot to be desired. He also has a combined .202/.530 OPS in his two brief BLB stints in 2021-22. Zion Williams and CJ McNichol will also see some time in the corners until one of the three emerges. Seattle signed former Montreal OF Dave Bound to a minor league deal and he might be in the running to get some reps sooner than later as well.

The new Preseason Predictions update came out. This is usually a more realistic interpretation but still flawed. It has Seattle finishing tied for 2nd in the Bock, three games back of the division and a Wild Card team. What's a bit peculiar is the Top 10 Pitchers section where Seattle's Shaun Modglin is projected to through in 90 games, go 22-6, 3.20 ERA in 142 IP. OSA and my scout see him LR/spot starter. Not sure why he would make the top 10 list or why he would be projected to lead the BLB in wins despite being a reliever. He probably doesn't even make the Opening Day roster.

Oh and watch out for Manny Nieto. 2022 was all about hating on Ulloa. 2023, you will hate Nieto.
