    Mon 9/4 - Spring Training 2

    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history

        Thanks Brad!
        Love ST!

Was really pleased with my pitchers, but my hitting was suspect - which is expected for this season.
        Looking forward to Opening Day.

A 7-8 record so far with the Pilots pitching far besting it's hitting. Seattle had only one game in it's first 15 where it scored more than four runs. As for the pitching, only one game where they gave up more than five runs. Strange showing for a team that is probably going to be all hitting in the regular season.

Unfortunately Seattle lost 3B R.J. Cheek for six weeks with a strained elbow. Coming off a career year in 2022 and just receiving a pretty big pay day via arbitration, the injury is a bit of a bummer. However, 3B is probably our deepest position.

Season ticket sales continue to increase and I think this will be a good season at the gate.

I thought I moved my three right field fence heights to 15 feet. If not, no worries.

Oh, in the file it showed current at 15, changing to 10. When I looked in game it was already at 10 so I just ignored those.

Nothing much to talk about on the field in Washington. We have a few rookies fighting for roster spots, but no one stood out. Good news is that no one got hurt. Even better news is Dave Honea has just 6 days left on his injury time and it appears he will be ready for Opening Day, two months ahead of the original timeline. He's still on he Top Players list, so hopefully he's still got it and I made the right choice bringing him back.

More than likely we will present a different OF this year with platoon players to maximise the match-up opportunities.

                            Against RHP
                            Collins / Salazar
                            Williams / Long
Leiden / Williams (So far Leiden is winning)

                            Against LHP
                            Davis
                            Williams
                            ?

In the triangle with Moore going to the utlity IF position and probably starting against lefties, it's time to make the most of the tools that we have. Paying +$15M to platoon player is not how you want to spend your budget, but with no offers coming asking for my best players seems that we are destined to mediocrity for the next 5 seasons at least.
