Yes, interest will go up with wins and goes up faster with the more popular players you have.

It's different. I do think it should be really high to start things off. Like fans should be excited that a bad team brought in an extremely popular player. But when that team inevitably loses again, then fan interest should crash fast.

Fine , but lose fan interest cuz I lost Dave Graves. If our revenue league wise is going to grow can't be a one way street.

It should still help during the important season ticket sales.

Despite the bitching.... I welcome the challenge. Just sucks seeing something so broken no matter how much people defend it.

          Pawtucket will endure.

            1. Scouting - widening the range of our 2-8 scale so that out 4-6 ranges are not "created equal" - maybe this would make investing in scouting more "valuable"? Would decreasing scout accuracy reward teams who invest in scouting? Or is scouting just "broken" in some way in terms of money invested related to accuracy?

            2. Find another way to reward profitable teams beyond the $10m cash max.
            1. I think my experience with scouting is that it's off in the other leagues I'm in. As I've said in the past, there is a large number of OOTP players (dating back from OOTP 1,2,3. The vets of the game) that all agree scouting is done poorly and they turn it off in both their solo and online leagues they run.

So I have very little input on widening the scale only because I can't tell you if it has a positive affect on scouting. The only thing I can confirm is it widens the gap between good and very good players rated by OSA.

            2. I'm in a league that has no cash max and things have run quite well with that model. It's also one of the oldest leagues in OOTP's history. I say this because once again it's a bunch of OOTP veterans that play the game with no cash max and have no issues with the results.

For inquisitive minds, here is the list of top paid players.
1 Randy Doss Fort Collins $30,000,000

I may be mistaken but wasn't one of the main arguments for a cash maximum to control FA salaries? Then we fixed the TO stacking, the buying down salaries and the arbitration contracts issues so that players could be paid what they were worth. However, in all those moves we never adjusted the cash maximum carryover. It's been static and we are seeing FA demands/contracts ballooning from $20m a year for stars to $40m a year. Now, IFA has changed the landscape as well but it may be time to reward profits by removing the cash max.

Yes And that's why I said I haven't seen it hurt financials in my other league.

I asked the commish there for some reasons why that might be the case in the league. Want to be sure that if we made the change here, we don't break something because we also didn't know what balances it out.

Amazing, right? The owner actually left the league, someone else took over, changed the name, and then the owner came back and changed it right back. So he has a real love for that team name.

Fans are fickle with their BLB dollars... It seems much harder to win back fans in this version... The cheap signing bumps no longer happen.

Agreed... My fan interest sky rocketed from the mid 50s to low 90s just by making the playoffs... Which in a lot of mid market major sport locations is exactly how it works.
