    Next SIM Saturday 9/2

League file is up. HTML and Utility in process

Files due by 7am ET | 4am PT

    Stat of the Day!

    Sat 9/2 - Free Agency 6 - Feb 16 to ST
    Sun 9/3 - Spring Training 1
    Mon 9/4 - Spring Training 2
    Wed 9/6 - Opening Day

    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history

Got a couple of bullpen arms on the cheap. Solid offseason for us so far.

We brought back Dusty Threatt after he fabulously auditioned as a starter in Baltimore for three years.

He was set to make double his contract but when he held out, I kept lowering it while I allocated funds to other players and departments. He finally signed.

We could lose Reed, Matney, Johnson and T.J. Davis after this season, listed in the order of importance to me.

Reed won't negotiate. I haven't received an offer I like for him either. Matney could opt out. Johnson is a potential free agent and Davis has an option that's less than what he wants to extend for. Significantly less.

Last hurrah with this group, possibly. Next season could be Threatt, Gotschall, Choi and possibly Jimmy Thompson (if he's ready) with Gant / Wells / Baisden battling for a fifth spot.

I'm sure no one expected Pat Evans to be unsigned this late.

              Especially Pat Evans.

Dusty was a great signing. I was planning him as bullpen/ 6th starter for match up situations. Nice move. Plan B it is.

Just to confirm... this sim is Saturday?

Big sim for a lot of teams! Plenty of Free-Agent talent left (with lower demands)! Last chance to set your scouting and player development budgets. It's also your last chance to do stadium modifications.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one but I somehow got a budget increase this week. Can't explain it but not complaining.

Saturday (I waffled on changing it to Friday, but then saw the remaining FA class and wanted to make sure everyone got a shot at them).

Took a ratings dip with which his poor performance in Indy coincided.

Didn't stop him from initially asking for $35m/yr though.

Yeah, was initially going to make a play at him but I figured it'd drag out too long, so I made a run at Ke instead.

He's going to prove a lot of people wrong pitching for the Pilots.
