    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Interesting looking at the computer generated award winners...

In the DL the computer was enamoured with 58 home runs and left Viger and Morla (is it possible that he gets downgraded for his consistent greatness... Mike Torut disease?!) to pick up second and third spots... I wonder what the human vote would have looked like?

In the DL Last Call race, the honour went to AJ Ingle for a season much like last year, when the award went to Rosaro, yet this year he was left off the battle.

I'm sure there were other interesting votes, I just happened to look at the two that heavily involved Kodiaks.

Also glad to see youngster Dave Rizer pick up his second straight DWI in his second full season and Mike Morla pick up his fifth straight Designated Driver award in his first five years.

Now to see how we can replace Tom Wrights 46 home runs ($20 million a year... no thanks!) with limited FA money.

Looks like CAL's prospect (Dave Morlan) ended up released, so I'll have to place him back in CAL's org next SIM.

Hah! Now he wants $32.5 million a year... I guess I should have given him a 4 year deal two years ago.

                Can't assume it's a regular thing.

There's only one guy I really want but it depends on his price tag / if he's available later in free agency.

                    Award winners for the Bats:

DWI - 3B Dave Seibert, RF Tom Roseboom
Designated Drivers - C Tristan Moody, 2B Jimmy Douglas, SS Geoff Yonke
Pale Ale Pitcher - Ed Carroll

It's Carroll's third consecutive Pale Ale award. Over the past 3 seasons, he's put up 28.2 WAR. I think that's the second best three year stretch in BLB history by that measure.

Roger Villasenor was 3rd in Pale Ale Voting, while Geoff Yonke missed out on Stout Slugger as he was third in that voting.

                    Team Transactions

Bats all-time saves leader, Israel Rodriguez, is leaving to free agency. He'll be missed by our fans, but he's just not the same guy anymore.

Tristan Moody will also head to free agency after four consecutive All-Star seasons in Washington. I'm hoping that Micah Garlick will prove to be an adequate replacement.

Frank Rico was brought back on a 2-year deal (team option).

Former Bat great Dave Lippert retired. I see that his jersey number was retired by my organization. Pretty cool that the game did that, because I don't remember doing it. Next stop is the Hall of Fame for "Pizza."

No real awards. A pitcher won the DD, a waiver claim from Seattle won DWI at 2nd.

Signed Frederick to a pretty good deal considering he was asking $35m a year during the season.

Lost out on a team doctor I wanted. Another will suffice I suppose.

We do have a lot of money and with Stark being gone after this season that will free up another $28m for next year. We could have 95% of this team with a $100m dollar payroll for 2024.

This game is an exercise in frustration. $65m to spend but no cash for my stadium, no IFA, and whiffed on a Scouting Director. I grade my tanking GM skills as an F-.

Oh, we also won 49 games and may actually get WORSE next season. This game is very unfun.

If you want to shed a contract call me. I'm busy sitting around doing nothing but crossword puzzles in my GM Utility closet in the basement of the Rio.

I couldn't disagree more... A tank is not supposed to take one year... you bottomed out... which is step one... Your bottoming out should take a few years, which you are in the middle of... You are starting to develop prospects... You have 13 of the top 100 prospects... It took Toronto a millennia to win... I bottomed out and still have won anything

This is far from unfair... I'm sure there are 20 teams in the league that would trade with you... Maybe we could vote, and perhaps you could switch franchises with Montreal, Carolina, or Daven[ort, etc.

As far as the game being unfun... it't too bad you see it that way... If the game was only fun while a team was winning, there would be very few long term GMs here. Yes, the winning seasons have been more fun, but each season I've had (granted only 10 or so) have each been fun!

Positive side... Crosswords are a blast!
