Lo, the DL is a semi softball league now.

Pawtucket 3-3. .500 August and so far playing above .500 in September. All we can do is play spoiler and ruin Pat's draft pick.

There are a lot of teams in that 60 to 67 win window. The pick could as good as #5 or as bad as #12. Lucky for me, Pawtucket has the most difficult remaining schedule in the entire BLB and majority on the road.

Agreed. Until past few sims we were actually better road team.

All kidding aside, just want some kids I brought up to develop a bit. First rounders are still important ....just not as black and white as the old days. We bounce between #5,#6 for league wide on our prospects so and here is our breakdown:

        ** #1 Tom Lyons - Mid 1st round
        ** #2 Samuel Norris - Late 2nd round
        ** #3 Jamie Mathewson- Mid 2nd rounder
        ** #4 Dusty Adams- Mid 2nd rounder
** #5 Craig 'Boomerang' Wanzer- Mid 2nd rounder
        ** #6 Ed Reed- Early 3rd rounder
#7 Storm Johnson- Mid 1st rounder
        ** #8 R.J. McGlashing- TRADE. 6th rounder
#9 Jamal Elliott- Mid 2nd rounder
#10 Tom Fiano- Late 2nd rounder.

** Currently on or has spent time in the top 100.

No defending our trade cuz it was awful on my part, but overall it seems unless your in the top 3 its a crap shoot. I prefer to live in the 2nd round in this version.

While Ulloa breaking the long standing HR record, all eyes should be on Washington's Ed Carroll who has an even bigger prize within reach. The BLB's #1 and #2 single season strikeout records that have stood since the league's inception in 1978.

44 years later, Carroll is just 13 strikeouts away from passing HOF pitcher, Joe Chavaraga for the #2 position. He would have need 37 more strikeouts to match David Rumsey's "unbreakable" 44 year old mark.

I doubt Carroll gets the innings it would take to break that record down the stretch. Getting to #2 looks almost certain, but right now the plan is to give him more rest since we're not really involved in any race right now. I'm guessing he's going to come up one start short of breaking Rumsey's mark.

                            Really?

From 1978-1984 he was one of the most dominant pitchers the league has seen. Four straight seasons leading the league in strikeouts and five out of seven seasons leading the league in K/9. His career also started at 29 and he was still very productive into his late 30s.

                            But I'm biased.

                                Because pitchers don't get in.
