Saving / Import / Export questions

Ok, going to show my noobness here, but should I be saving the game after each export?

If so does this reduce the amount that has to be downloaded after each sim?

Can I make changes, export, save, then make more additional changes, then export again?

1) It saves automatically when you exit the game.

2) It doesn't reduce the download size.

3) Yes, you can export multiple times. I usually will make some changes on day 1, export, save and come back the next day, make a few more changes and export again.
