Pawtucket 1-6. Glad its Allstar break. At times we can hit .....we just have almost zero clue how to pitch. Don't get me started on the defense. With Snowball gone, maybe we can get some defense going in RF?? Maybe. SS Davenport has actually been playing well, but 3B Avison needs some help, hence we made a trade for lefty Ron Hammonds who is an instant defense upgrade at 3B, played well against Toronto then came to Harftord a lefty friendly park and went 0-8?? Whatever.

Back to pitching and defense. Basically were allowing the least amount of homeruns, but every ball hit is getting thru. Bringing back up Gunter to use as a defensive replacement at 2B see if this helps, but looking around the league I'm seeing fielders which much lower ratings play at a much better level then some of my guys. 1B Graffing is "eh" and his defense isnt impressing me so might see Schara from AAA sooner then later to replace him. As for bullpen gonna keep throwing shit at the wall til something sticks.

Maybe my scout flat out sucks.

In all fairness... It seems like everyone's scout sucks. Every guy my scout liked the last two or three years has either regressed or just been flat out garbage. Good news... The auto pick Scooter Nackers is in AAA.

4 game sweep of Dallas, took 2 of 3 from Cali, AND Guizzetti debuted in the top 100. Good sim for the race car guys.

I was really hoping Guizzetti was going to fall later in the draft.
Is it wrong that I want him to get in a horrible boating accident?

4-2 for the Bats, trimming a game off our deficit in the division.

It wasn't a great week at the plate for my team. Only Yonke really hit well. Thankfully, the pitching staff stepped up and we still manged to win both series this week. Tom Calligan has been very good in his three starts since we got him, a big upgrade from what I was getting out of that spot in the rotation. Villasenor had two good starts to up his win total to 12. Only Ed Carroll was bad - he's been roughed up a bit lately, but hopefully he'll figure it out.

Five Bats were selected to the All-Star game, second most in the IL. Last year we had 8 guys selected, so we're down a bit. Douglas, Yonke, Roseboom, Moody and Carroll will represent us this season. Looking it over, all those guys seem like decent selections, with Villasenor being the biggest snub from my team.
