4-2 and another strong week for us taking two of three in both series. With Washington stumbling just a bit, we are able to move into 1/2 of game behind the perennial Stout Champs.
-We lost Stripling for a week as he's been complaining about back issues. We aren't going to put him on the DL as that would require him to sit out for 2 weeks, but he won't be starting at all next week. We've also noticed that he's moved up the rankings up to the #10 hitter in the Top Players List. We're leaning on him a lot and I've got to find a way to give him some more rest before he breaks down before his time.
-We continue to pitch exceptionally well for the year. Both SP Willie Farjardo and SP Alex Dominguez have been nothing short of amazing for us, The two pitchers continue to dominate, with both pitchers moving up into the top ten on the Top Pitchers List, the highest either have been since donning a Bulldog uni. After another good week on the mound, the Bulldogs remain the best pitching team in the BLB (by ERA) by more than .5 runs.
With the injury to Stripling and the end of our home stand, I expect us to cool down a bit. Our next 12 games are on the road and I can only hope we can play well enough to stay within a shout of Washington.

Great BLB debut for Batchelor going .462 OBP and .862 OPS. He made 2 errors as a Catcher, we all know he has to be a 1B or DH... But I like how the Rookie is doing against RHP so far.
J.J. will comeback to the starting position behind the plate, while Batchelor will play DH this week.
In the minors 22 years old lefty 1B Dave Murphy is fully developed and is tearing the ball in AAA .342 / . 416 / .559 / .975. We must find a trade partner for him or find a position in the Roster... Batchelor, Salazar and Leiden are all great options against RHPs and Cardona won't leave his 1B position to anybody... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

We finally had some optimism with a 6-0 SIM. The Demon might be the boost we need to our rotation. We also picked up RP Jarrod Davidson off waivers from Indy. Hopefully he returns to his old form and helps out our bullpen. It's taken some time for this team to come together but hopefully this is the start of a good second half.Toronto Canadians - 2004-

3-3 week for the Bats. Not too disappointing, but not great either. I sat Douglas for the week since he has a day-to-day injury, so we were without one of our better players and table setter for the lineup. His replacements did ok, but middle of the order hitters like Schneider and Moody were both awful, and Roseboom wasn't great leading off.
We got lit up in the losses, with the bottom of the rotation having a rough week. If only Carroll could start every game...Washington Bats, 2013-

We signed manager Zane Bolton to a 5 year/$1,234,000 contract this past week after letting go Raul Frayo. Frayo was cheap, and easy going, and we needed someone to light a fire under the young guys on the team. Bolton won the BLB championship with Wilmington a few years back and lead Toronto to back to back playoff appearances before being fired after an 8-17 start.
In other news our starters still can't pitch.
