  • I'm still in the market to trade into a pick soon. Still willing to move any guy in my system or future pick assuming player I want is available.

    • Pawtucket takes a closer in the first round since....well not sure I ever drafted a closer this high???

P Erik 'Genghis Khan' Marrella. Scout his him rated very high and one reason I set out to grab multi first round picks. When I look at my farm system it seems every position has someone working with a possibility of making the BLB roster except our front line bullpen. This season'd draft appears to have a few guys who can help out and why not start here at #19. See how it goes.

        • And with the 21st pick in the first round, the Millers are extremely happy to select Joey "The Snake" Dunn.

The durable 17 year old does not posses the ideal intangibles, however he certainly is an OSA darling, where they list him as 7/6/7 POT. My scout doesn't quite like him that much, but he still thinks he's a big leaguer. The plan was to go pitcher pitcher with these two picks, but I certainly didn't expect to snag the two highest ranked non-knuckleball pitchers in the draft, let alone my ideal combination of college arm (Micah 'Halibut' Laird) - HS arm (Dunn).

Super pleased with how this played out.

          • Nice pick Mike, will probably take a little while but my scout is a fan.

            • I was between Sanchez and Dunn. My scout ranked Dunn 7th overall, but decided to go with what we saw as a safer pick in Sanchez.

If you went Dunn I would have gone Sanchez. Really liked both players

I think your right. Did you board change though (or did you refresh) after the May rescout?? Mine did.

                      Agreed.

I really like the Dunn pick. Think he's a star.

                        • With the unexpected run on pitchers we choose to go with 16 year old 1B Bruno Damours.

Damours is the only player rated by both OSA and my scout to have "8" power. The kid hit 7 grand slams in HS, but can also run pretty well and can even lay down bunts well. This is not where I initially hoped to go with this pick but if he ends up anything near what my scout and OSA project, he could be the heir apparent to Gosser a few years down the line.

I love the fit in Baltimore.

He's got a lot of development left (according to my scout) and he is going to be one of the worst fielding 1B in baseball but if you get the ball rolling now, maybe we will have the DH in the IL by the time he is ready.
