First ever 7-0 sim! Those feel nice. We actually hit on the same days we pitched. An average week for Morla and the other players stepped up to contribute.

BTW, I'd like to take a second to publicly thank Seattle for signing Ulloa into the IL. That guy is a beast!!

        Thanks Brad!

OK sim- offense is well ahead of where it was last year which I partly attribute to the fences coming in a bit at home as well as better platoon usage. Starting pitching not where it needs to be just yet though. Long season ahead of us, my low level minors squads need to kick it into gear.

I see our bullpen has forgotten how to pitch. Some roles are going to change.

Well if Nara keeps hitting homeruns one out of every 10 at bats we should be golden.

Also just from sucking past few season info for GMs. Moral is simply winning or losing, thats it. Doesn't spin out of control nor does it affect performance. You win all is good, you lose they are pissed. Its window dressing.

Pitching is a form of art.

              Just ask Enrique Bernardi.

Between Balt and Sea the IFAs have destroyed the IL. If I would have known superstars were just going to appear out of thin air I never would have signed Stark or a few others.

I can understand the frustration but it's not like there wasn't other top domestic FA talent available during those off-seasons.

Mcpherson, Pulido, Urmson, Piekarski, Wright, Deiwart, Murillo, Flores, Mitchell, Matney, Roberson, Honea, Baldwin, Brooks, Moody, Wood, Reeves, Gerlach, Lara, Mason, etc. have all been FAs in recent years. Most of which are/were top notch players with majority signed for far less than the IFAs annually and without the requirement/risk of long-term deals.

Baltimore and Seattle put themselves in positions to spend in FA. If it wasn't Ulloa, Nieto, Dominguez and Carrasco, it would have been some other players. And when you consider those four players are making $110M this season, you'd probably be looking at far more FA signings for those two teams. Are any as good as Ulloa? No. But while Nieto, Dominguez, and Carrasco have produced at a high level, their value/$ is actually far worse than a lot of other players who signed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't like IFAs in the new OOTP but that's the world we play in these days.

                    Yea.

I think it's a bit unfair to chalk up our success as only attributed to FA acquisitions.

Gosser, Stripling, Haba, Blick and list goes on with guys that are homegrown. Fajardo, Parham, Perritt acquired by trade.

And furthermore, if I didn't spend it on Dominguez and Carrasco, I can assure you Urmson and Mitchell would've been Bulldogs. I don't understand the frustration.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I love the IFA as it makes it a requirement to be active, manage your revenue and expenses and not expect to sit back and tank your way to the top of the division since these FA can instantly change the BLB landscape.

In other news, 3-4 for the week.

We got destroyed by Phoenix this week as our bullpen looks to be in shambles after the injury to Kamiya.

However, if I had to find a silver lining, the fact that we went 3-4 despite Stripling and Gosser combing for just 11 hits the seven games is encouraging.

No one wanted the IC just in case a superstar came through there... Now there are complains about IFAs ruining the league, where in fact there are Superstars coming to the league... Oh boy... If we just thought in each other... We would have multiple ways to land star players...

3-4 for the Brawlers. On some days the pitching carries, some days the hitting carries, some days neither do and on the very rare day that both work we look good. Freddie Wright isn't hitting for Hayden's average but he is certainly proving to have the power with 3 homers this week.

IL sort of needed the boost.
