Well there's a sight I haven't seen in awhile. Pawtucket actually having a .500 April!!!! After dealing with Cali & Dallas to start the season off we hit a slightly easier part of the schedule (no offense to Indy & LA) and the results showed.

Were not very good yet, but its nice some of the younger kids might actually be players. Perkins had a good week also. Him and 'Snowball' are here to bring the young bucs along.

My team's struggles in April of late continue. Not sure why.

Well we finish off what I believe to be the best month of April that I've had since taking over. 15-9 in April (1-0 in May!!!) And we are being carried by our offense. After a month of play, 1st in Runs Scored, Batting Average, OBP, HR, SB.Our 1-4 has been absolutely incredible in April.

        Vickers .352/.427/.463/.890
        Skolfield .330/.364/.537/.891
        O'Hearn .310/.355/.740/1.095 (13 HR ...on pace for 84 lol)
        Stoll .385/.412/.606/1.018

Pitching wise we have been very consistent. Each of our six starters...Syversten (3.38), Pryor (3.00), Marohnic (3.70) Sepulveda (3.54), Lintz (3.86) and Eaton (3,86) have managed to provide quality appearances in April. We'll see if it can last, but I'll definitely take 6 guys with sub 4 ERA to begin the season.

Pen wise....that'll be it for Rory Klingberg. He's been DFA and I do not envision him making a return. He's been poor since the elbow injury and we will replace him with last season's acquisition Ian McCormick, who posted a 1.15 ERA for us last season.

Month two....let's see what you got.

The Kaneie Kuwata experiment is over. He hit so well in ST, but he needs more seasoning on the farm.
Josh Ward destroyed AAA pitching this week so he's going to get the call.
Also sent a contract offer to Ernie Lucas to replace Bedwetter in LF.

I've been very pleased with Marco Contreras though. 6 dingers on the season thus far. And Jayden Miles has been great for me as well. Hitting .326 and providing decent defense.
Willie Londono's hitting continues to struggle, but my Lord...

Man we can't play on the road. Went 2-4 this week where we either hit very well or not at all, mostly not at all.

Our lineup was cooking this week and we rode it to a 5-1 record. Just a bullpen meltdown from a perfect week, but I'll take it, as it puts us alone in first place for now.

We slashed .322/.386/.574 as a team this week, scoring at least five runs in every game. Right now, we lead the IL in almost every hitting category. CJ Turnbow is off to the best start of his career, Tristan Moody has been great, Dave Schneider looks like he's bouncing back from a rough 2021 season. So far, so good for the lineup.

On the mound, Ed Carroll was good. 59:1 strikeout to walk ratio so far this season. I still feel good about 1-3 in my rotation, and so far Smith and Johnstone have been good enough most of the time to round out the rotation. The bullpen needs to pick it up.

A 3-2 week in California that seems like it could have been 4-1 after leaving 29 men on base in our final loss to Pittsburgh.

Mike Morla is continuing to carry the entire offence, taking home player of the month for April. The ageless (I hope) C.J. Wilkinson batted a ridiculous 0.727 this week after being moved to the leadoff spot and took home the player of the week award.

The pitching has not taken quite the next step that I hoped it would after being utterly dominant at stretches last year. It has been good, but our lack of home runs seems to put on lot of pressure on our staff to be perfect.

As we continue to mix and max offensive pieces to spark the offence, Xavier Garnett went 2 for 22, and Sonny Mason went 3 for 16 this week. Perhaps it is time to look into the minors for some players to help...

Having said all of that, what looked like it would be a tough month left us at 15-8, so perhaps a little waiting on some of the offensive players is still in line.

                    Finally...

Mike Morla has been the lone Kodiak (#1) on the top players list for awhile now, but after his 0.727 week, C.J. Wilkinson finally shows up to support his teammate at #16. Not sure what this means or how its calculated, but still pretty cool for Kodiak Nation!

                      Also...

We've rocketed up to #10 on the Top Prospects List. This list hates my top picks, but has showed a lot of love to my later round picks...

#7 Nolan Rushin (a SS i'm trying to turn into a CF that seems to be way overrated)
#51 Tom Bowen (very intriguing 9th round pick)
#81 Scooter Nackers (he gets to California on name alone)
#86 Dusty Cataldi (Could be up now if we weren't so young at the BLB level already)
#87 Jimmy Bradshaw (intriguing fourth round pick)
#90 Sherrel DePaul (former 6th round pick whose stats outperform his ratings)

This looks good considering we were hosed on the Dave Morlan retirement at the start of the year...

OK sim for us but a good April for us compared to what we've had in previous years. Need a lot more production out of my corner OF, catcher, and my middle infielders this year going forward.

I'm 100% fine with you guys Clay-ing Scooter Nackers so he has the career that he, and quite frankly all of us, deserve.

Anything less than HOF is not befitting of a man named Scooter Nackers.
