Thanks Z. Was the roster issue a 25 man not being on the 40 man?

Well 7 day lineups screwed me this time! They were still left on from the playoffs, sigh. Poor McDade and Bires making 5 starts between them in one week.

The Sim: 2-5 week: 1-2 vs. WC, 1-3 vs. Davenport - All wins by one run, all losses by two runs or more. Sigh.

The Good: Andy Ulloa is the real deal. In his first week he hit .375/1.256, including three HRs and is now a Top 10 player. Man am I glad I called that guy!

The Bad: As a team, including Ulloa's massive week, hit .211/.556, worst OPS in the BLB. The $249M Manny Nieto went 2/23! Yay!

The Ugly: Leadoff hitter Bereket "Magic" Asiku went 0-3 on stolen base attempts. Last year he was 20 out of 24 attempts. Not a good sign for a player turning 30 this year.

Next Week: 3 @ DVS, 3 @ DEN - Maybe we will have a better showing on the road.

2-4 wasn't the start we were hoping for at home.

The lineup didn't hit in 4 games. We were terribly inconsistent with our hitting last season, so that's not encouraging. We scored 13 runs in the 2 games we won this week, and only 2 runs in the other 4 games combined. Just not going to get it done.

More bad news on the injury front. Haraguchi was an injury risk, and he's now gone for 3 weeks. Dave Koehler got hurt one batter into his start. Thankfully his injury was only a week long so he'll be available this coming sim, but that forced the bullpen into pitching 8.2 innings that game.

In positive news, the starting rotation looked just fine. Dave Smith and Ed Johnstone were both good, though we didn't back them up with any run support. Ed Carroll did his usual things on the mound.

Not sure what I expected this first week, but a walkout grand slam in game one was pretty cool. It looks like we will have to really heavily on pitching and defence again. AJ Ingle started the season pissed off at not getting the Last Call award and went 2-0 with three saves in his first five games.

3-3 week over a 6 game road trip to start the season? We'll take it. This is the first time in 3 years we're not already 5+ games back after week 1.

First time I haven't been swept by Washington out of the gate since we went to 2 divisions.

3-4 this week for the Brawlers. We'll wait another week before we start to panic.
