Week 1 2022 - Taylor Thomas already had a better week this week than he had all of last season. Really hoping for a bounceback year from him. We can manage if he's just over paid by 50%; can't stomach it if he's overpaid by ∞.

Interesting/different first week. We're going to be a good defensive unit this season. I think there is a chance that it could end up being one of the best defensive teams I've ever fielded. I really like the dynamic of being able to use Foshee/Muehlbauer/Malik (more on him later) and Okimoto as defensive replacements. I hope I still catch a season or two of Domiance from "Red" in the pen. So far so good. Him in the ninth could be the difference when the games start to matter. Murray as a multi inning setup man I like a lot, and I'll be hunting for a high leverage reliever throughout the season if we're competitive. So be ready for me to come knocking and offering an overpay if I have to.
other highlights
Mat Marcus hit 4 dingers this week.
I know he's not going to be a superstar, I'm not even positive he's going to be a good player, but I am completely intrigued with Dave Dillavou. He was a 7th rounder a while back and he's competed at each level. He's got incredible speed and we've set his strategy to be aggressive as hell on the bases. This week he responded with a .435 avg and 4 SB. If he gives me .250 and 30 bags out of the nine hole then we will be a very good team.
also happy as hell to see Malik roberson hit a dinger this week. He's on the team for his leadership. So anything extra is money in the bank
Finally, Excited to see how Sepulveda/Lintz/Eaton go in the rotation this year. Especially Sepulveda, he's looked at as a major piece moving forward.

4-2 for a decent start to the season.
We we look like we may have a pretty solid offense if the first week is an indication of anything. Stripling looks like the real deal this year. Average, power, patience and defense. I don't think we've had a complete outfielder come through our system since Loren Wallace.
Im going to have to shuffle the lineup a bit to see if anyone has the ability to protect Stripling and Gosser. Gosser already has 2 intentional walks while Stripling has 3. We can't have teams just pitching around these two all year.
Quietly, rookie outfielder, Dave Haba had an amazing week. He hit .500 for the week to match Stripling and if he ends up having a good year, our scout is getting fired at the end of the season. Our previous scout thought pretty highly of Haba and his potential but our current scout doesn't. I'll be damned if you stay as our head scout and you can't even scout OUR players correctly.
Fajardo had a good start to the season, as did Dominguez. Both guys have popped back on the Top Pitchers list which hopefully bodes well for 2022.

Glad to see Rhoads hitting .600 in the first week of action. Frost also looks he's ready to continue hitting well in the 3rd hole.
I don't know what the f*** is going on with Salazar, he will have all the chances and patience in the world to recover his mojo, but he better start to produce some numbers as a DH.
We called back Henderson just now to hit against lefties, I don't like having only 4 OF with Davis, our main #4 OF, down for 2 weeks, but I want to see what Henderson can do after bringing him last year from Maine.

Hey Pawtucket with the #1 defense!!! Been awhile since I've seen that. Hopefully we've caught up to this "new age" of pitching and defense.
Poor GM note: Need to fill two pitching coaches for my minors. Ughhh, I'll get some smuck for $8 an hour to fill these roles.PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

1-5 to open.
I'm not sure if OOTP sims micro or macro, but one of these games blew.
Losses: Lost 3 by 1 run. Lost 1 while leading by 1 in the top of the 9th with 2 outs and gave up a 3 run homer. That makes ya wanna vomit.
Wins: Just the 1 and it was by 5 runs, 9-4.
Probably get more commentary from me as "MY" draft picks start coming up to the ML level. I don't usually trade or fight for guys in FA, even in FOF. I prefer to build though the draft and maintain a young team, but I'm finding that to be more difficult in OOTP than in FOF.Columbus Catfish (2020-2030 & 2036-2038)
