    Offseason Schedule

    Wed 6/28 - Spring Training 2
    Fri 6/30 - Opening Day

    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their second arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have two "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

      Thanks Brad.

Pawtucket came out of the gate looking like world beaters those first 3 games. Final 6 games not so much.

A heads up for our utility users: There are 3 steps to updating the utility - 1) Generating the files 2) placing the files on the server 3) Loading the files into the utility.

This morning I skipped step 2 for some reason, meaning step 3 had nothing new to load. Didn't realize it until I had already left for work this morning. Many apologies, but the utility won't be updated until either a) someone pinch hits and fixes my error b) I get home later this afternoon and fix it myself.

              Seattle Spring Report
5-8; tied for last in the IL

              Encouraging:
+The foreign imports Ulloa (1.052) and Nieto (.898) both hit the ball well in 30+ PA.
+Infielder Edwin Reta hit well (1.008) in a bit small sample (24 PA).
+4 of my 6 SPs had an ERA 1.50 or under.

              Discouraging:
-Small sample but I had three RPs with ERAs 11+ including Tom King.
-Infielder CJ McNichol was the only player to be hurt, and will return during this sim.
-Despite in increase in his development report from my scout and OSA, infielder Ron Monis still struggles to make contact with the ball.

              Overall:
*About what I anticipated from Spring. We were teaching a few players secondary positions and with the short leash on the rotation, our achilles heel of a bullpen was on full display.
*I think we should have a better showing in ST2 as we shorten up the roster a bit, giving priority ABs/IPs to less than the full 40 roster.
*Hoping we can win a few games down the stretch to get some momentum into the season. We finish ST with 3/4 games against the Bock then open the regular season with five straight Bock series.

Any chance we can get a utility update? No game access for now.

Added some vets on MLC that will be immediate contributors. Malik Roberson will make the team for two reasons. 1. He's an undisputed leader and last season there were some rumblings about leadership. The second is his versatility. Hell mix in a few positions. The second is Zach muehlabuer or however you spell it. He'll be a defensive option for us to mix in. I didn't look at the spring stats but nobody got hurt so it's a win. Shit ton of minor league roster decisions coming up, but the early signs point to our minors teams being solid.

I liked those veteran pickups for you, Mike.

CJ Turnbow is putting on his annual hitting clinic in Spring Training. It's a shame he's getting all of the hits out of his system now instead of saving some for the season.

That was always Dusty Filar in California... He rake at a 0.400 clip with 9 bombs every spring it seemed like, and then be meh the rest of the year.

Another season of being crappy in Vegas. Yawn. I'm gonna lock up this #1 pick early. If you need spare parts come and get'em. Brandon Lanoie will probably be an all star somewhere else. Marshall can hit bombs too.

Very happy to see Tom Wright not get injured in his 1 1/3 innings of starting duty in game 2?!?!?!?!? He gave up seven runs before being relieved by one of the 15 pitchers we have in Spring Training. Hopefully two more weeks and no serious injuries. We are down a top pitching prospect (career) and a quality bullpen arm (season) the last two sims. Hopefully that is all for awhile here in California.
