It's been a long, long time since I made a FA splash like that.

We had $16M in player payroll to start the off-season.

            Breaking News...

Sources suggest that Manny Nieto and Andy Ulloa are considering pooling their money to purchase the Seattle Pilots franchise.

Early reports indicate that the potential player-owners hold grave concerns about perceived fiscal irresponsibility on the part of the Seattle general manager.

They would likely want to make a change in that position.

I don't have high expectations for 2022 and probably not 2023.

We were the worst team in baseball for the last two years.

It's unfortunate that Baltimore refuses to hire Terumoto Chiba.

He meant so much to the franchise and would love another job in baseball, and yet Bulldogs management refuses to find employment for a man who gave his body to the Baltimore franchise..

                Shameful.

Happy to sign Ontiveras. He'll bat at the top of the order and play CF. If he plays well we will flip him since this is looking like another tank season.

Ron Erickson will compete for the closer spot with Scriber. My bullpen is more leadership than talent at this point which will hopefully keep the grumbling from losing 100+ games manageable.

Ontiveros was at the top of my FA list before Ulloa and Nieto got expensive.

Good luck with Erickson. Always thought there was something there.

                            Pawtucket Signee's....
Signed free agent RP Michinao Hashimoto to a 1-year contract worth a total of $562,000.
Signed free agent C Tom Farber to a 3-year contract worth a total of $8,670,000.
Signed free agent 2B Jimmy Lewis to a minor league contract.
Signed free agent SP J.D. Robillard to a 1-year contract worth a total of $900,000.

Nothing crazy. JD re-joins us, but at way cheaper and a MP/LR player now. Always did far better in the bullpen. Mashimoto fill the back of the bullpen/ lefty specialist role.

C Tom Farber will start against lefties.

Overall we will bargain hunt this offseason til we free up more money next season. We already made a few trades to shore up the bullpen and least filled a OF hole with a young player we hope will come of age at Pawtucket. Three top prospects (2- SP & 2B) will also be up this coming season.

We won't be world beaters, but we should be better.

Reset also shows only one other team with a better farm system then Pawtucket.

Not sure I've seen a team's payroll go up $74 from just TWO PLAYERS !!!! Knew Pat was gonna Nieto for sure, but Ulloa was a bit of surprise. Was thinking veteran starting pitcher for move 2. Live and learn.
