BNN finds it slow too. They are posting about player's kids now.

      Thursday, December 16th, 2021
Today was a big day for Theodore Honea, son of the Washington Bats right- hander, Dave Honea. It was his first day of kindergarten at the touted Washington private academy, Winthrop Acres.

Theodore passed multiple aptitude exams in order to be accepted into the school, which has only 400 children over all 13 grades.

"Today is such a special moment for Theo and I am just so proud," said Honea. "When I became a parent I never imagined the love and joy that he could bring me and I'm just so delighted to see Theo go to a school that can cultivate his academic desires."

This experience, coupled with the Honea family's recent purchase of a luxury penthouse, show just how committed a starting pitcher the Bats have in Dave Honea.

Yeah.....this goes a little slow. Like Brad says we have another sim tomorrow, but I'm not 100% sure this is gonna be a good thing yet. Use to enjoy the offseason signings coming fast and furious even if I wasn't involved cuz I didn't have the money.

On the flip side SP J.D. Einhorn now a top 20 pitching prospect. Not sure whats happening under the hood right now, but this time off seems to really be helping our Pawtucket's farm system??

It seems like this will mean players sign after getting the best offers anyone wanted to give them.

I'm willing to take a little less excitement to get that result.

Likewise. Certainly sucks as there's less stuff to read about but I'd rather us have a little more time to negotiate.

Besides, it will feel exciting when the players sign. We're just delaying gratification a little.

Let's not forget that before this year we usually had one, maybe two exciting sims followed by a half-dozen excruciatingly boring ones where nothing happened and nothing was going to happen any time soon.

At least our boring ones have some suspense coupled with important negotiating.

I thought there was some excitement / strategy in coming up with the best offer in the first stage for free agency, but that's just me.

Going forward, I might work under the strategy of simply waiting for put in any offers so I don't unnecessarily increase the prices for the players I want.

It was really exciting. It did involve strategy. I agree.

I prefer this method because I think negotiation ought to be an important component of free agency. It wasn't really the case before.

It also might help making sure that the prices players sign for are decent reflections of their value. There have been times in the past where people felt like they had to come in with a huge offer from the beginning just to ensure they get the guy they like, even if an actual negotiation would have yielded a lower price tag for the same player.

                              Me too.
There is one UFA in particular that I notice his price keeps rising. So there's obviously a few teams bidding on him.
I think that's better than having someone jump on the largest offered after only one sim.
