He hates all of my prospects. And I mean ALL of my prospects.

This should be an interesting draft for us.

Then you should feel grateful you finally have a scout who knows what he's doing!

Hell, he better be grateful. He just came up on a free 1.2 MM since he'll be on the first thing smokin' if we find someone better in the next few years. He is literally the worst scout we've ever had and it shows. I think he'll be our 4th or 5 scout since I took over the franchise and I've never seen such a profound difference in opinion after a regime change.

What I don't like about him is that A LOT of his blurbs don't match his ratings AT ALL which rarely happened with my old scout.

                  This shit blows.

                    I hate it, too.

"This guy is a 5/6/5/5/6 hitter."

                    "He is minor league filler."

                      5-5-4-4-4.

This guy is a future HOF. Really because my last scout said 6-6-6-5-6 and still future HOF.

I now see why there is so much variance in the draft. After the initial shock, I'm cool with it now but I'll be damned if he sticks around for long because I just don't think he knows what he's doing yet (this is his first year as head of a big league scouting team).

I like it and don't. Feel like this is scouting back in 1982 versus 2017. Again lately I've been looking at OSA a bit and the VERBAGE of the scouts, I went from a highly favored tools scout to ability scout a season ago and wow!! There were some +\- 2 pt ratings swings. Yet....verbage for the most part stayed the same.

I have found that the first line in the scouting report is mostly crap. All it means when a player is minor league filler is that he doesn't have a balanced offensive attack.

I see a lot of - this guy won't have a major league career. Then the next line says, "He'll hit .270." .270 isn't bad for a guy that supposedly can't play in the majors.

I've said it before ... I really miss the old days when we had five or six scouts. Sure, we had some of the same problems with the descriptions in the report, but at least having multiple opinions gave you a better idea of what to expect.

I just chalk it up to the difference between a new tools scout vs a guy with damn near 30 years experience in identifying ability.

. Id expect there to be some differences.

The first blurb seems to correspond to the player's OVR rating (which we have hidden in this league). It doesn't adjust for an individual players skillset, as far as I can tell. Two guys with a 45 OVR rating might have the same blurb, even if one of them is a defensive specialist while the other is all-bat. This can lead to some weird things, like reading a guy is "an offensive force" even though his value is entirely with the glove and on the bases.

You've got to read the other lines to get a better feel for the player.

There's times I miss the old system with 5 scouts, but I don't miss how tedious it was to set their task lists to make sure they were doing something. I like just getting updates on the whole league at the same time, even if I'd occasionally like to see more opinions presented.
