In what turned out to be a meaningless game for us, Ed Carroll was hit as hard as he's been all season, giving up 3 runs in 6 innings. It didn't do too much damage to his season, and he claims the 2nd best ERA in BLB history behind only Pancho Herrera's tainted season. Dave Honea got win #24, making him one of 5 pitchers in league history to have that many in a season.
399 runs allowed is just ridiculous. Also, true BLB historians will consider the Ed Carroll ERA figure as the top mark in league history. Incredible season for him. He's the first 1 year sabbatical guy to actually meet his potential, right?

2-4 to finish the season at .500. Pitt did what they needed to do to clinch so I don't feel too badly. Our rotation didn't have enough depth to overcome all the injuries this season. Definitely an area we'll be looking to improve.

Altogether I consider this season a huge success. Obviously the best finish in franchise history and have a good foundation to start building towards the next step. I called up The Tornado for the last 3 weeks and he performed very well so he'll likely be taking over the starting C role next season.

KC finished the season with 239 HR's, 2nd all time behind 2010 Pittsburgh.

We go to CAR for our first shot (which I believe is a win-and-in situation for either team?) and then if that doesn't work out we play BAT. At least that's how I think it works? Not sure; asking for a friend.
                That's how I see it.

And Surmeier has missed significant time each of the last two seasons.

I think the biggest reason for the downfall was the inactivity of Bparks. It lingered for seasons on end. Players leaving in FA, questionable trades and signings, and a low export percentage. Insert a green owner and you have what you are looking at now. I think the franchise is in good hands, they have talent (near .500) and should have some budget room this off-season.

More teams should have taken advantage of my mass sell off. Many who did made the playoffs or came damn close.

                              I echo this sentiment.

After such a promising start to September, we finish the season just 3-10 in the final 2 weeks and six games back of the eventual, division winning Bats. All in all, it was still a very successful season as 94 wins and the 3rd best record in the BLB is nothing to be ashamed of.

That stamina wall was a beast for all the rookie positional players on our roster. From 9/20 through the end of the season, the rookies went just 19 for 111 with no doubles, no triples and just one home run between the four of them (3B Ethan Manning, 3B Pat Femrite, OF Eli Fernandez, and OF CJ Stripling). If we want to make it out of the wildcard round, we will need at least two of those three to play much better. Hopefully the extra couple of days that the two Lonnie Coleman games will provide, can help these young guys dig deep and come into the playoffs refreshed and playing like they did before the final two weeks of the season.

I'm very proud of our pitching staff's performance this year. Now when compared to the season for teams like Washington and Windy City, our pitchers don't look all that great. However, when you just compare the performances for OUR pitching staffs over the years, this is the 2nd best staff we've ever trotted out over 162 games (by ERA). Our 3.07 ERA to finish the season was the 3rd best team ERA in the BLB and only the 2017 Bulldogs 2017 staff which boasted a starting rotation of Adrian Pulido, Jimmy Mattoon, Jimmy Talley, Chang-weon Kahng and Troy Donovan bested this year's performance. Coincidentally, that team won 91 games which was only good for 4th place in the Stout that year.

We look forward to seeing who comes to Baltimore for the Wildcard game. Every team fighting for a playoff spot has proven they can beat us on their day, so we'll just have to hope it isn't their day when the playoffs begin.

                                Awesome regular season!

Thanks to the commishes for the great job and good luck to everyone going into the playoffs, when they aren't playing us.
