Allow me to add for the record that the overall team statistics underrate the value of Toronto's starting pitching in the postseason. It matters less that Robillard has stunk, Bires can't throw strikes, and they've run through a half-dozen other starters because they can ride their two actual aces in playoff series.Maine Guides

Washington is just on another level this year.Washington Bats, 2013-

One week to go in a fine regular season for the Kodiaks. First time in the playoffs since 2004 and first finishing first since 2000.
It has been a long ride since taking over the Kodiaks in 2014. Two second place finishes, seven straight years out of the playoffs, finishing 1 game out last year (still pissed about that), a wasted #8 overall pick... yet here we are.
Hoping to stay healthy and get healthy for my first ever shot at the BLB playoffs. I've got no idea how this works, but here is to hoping that the boys figure it out quickly.
We have an ultra young starting staff that is going to have to pitch like they have no idea they are in the playoffs in order for us to compete against the offences that are also joining the fun.

It was a 5-2 week for the Bats. Combined with a slip by Baltimore and we've got a 3 game lead in the Stout heading into the final week of the season.
We threw 5 shutouts this week. That brings us up to 38 shutouts this season. According to the utility, the previous record for team shutouts in a season was 29, so we've smashed that. Almost one out of every 4 games this season has ended with a shutout for us this year.
Ed Carroll made 2 starts this week and threw 17 shutout innings, striking out 23 and giving up just one walk. It was enough to earn him IL Player of the Week for the first time in his career. It also lowers his ERA to 1.28 on the season. That would be the second best season ERA in BLB history, if he can maintain it through one more start. Only Pancho Herrera has done better.
Honea, Koehler and Mitchell were also fantastic in their starts. Only Roger Villasenor let us down this week.
It was only an average week at the plate. We lost both games in which our opponent scored, so hopefully we'll just avoid letting that happen going forward. Roseboom and Seibert combined for 7 HR's, so we got some unexpected power.
To close the season, we come home for 6 games against Baltimore and Carolina. We've been good at home, so hopefully we can hold on to the division and home field advantage for the playoffs.Washington Bats, 2013-
