This Wild Card finish is going to be the best we have seen. Technically 6 DL teams competing for two spots and 5 IL teams competing for two.
    Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
    Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
    Washington Bats - 1979-2013

Hanging on. Another typical horrendous ninth inning collapse vs Wilmington but aside from that we hold steady and gain a half game on the final spot.

Jamie O'Hearn continues his tear, he's got a 20 game hit streak in Sept... He's now first in the DL in SLG (by .29 points), OPS (by .31 points), wOBA (by .04 points), HR (by 3), RBI (by 11), Runs (by 10), ISO (by .19 points), XBH (by 5), TB (by 23).

Just carry us big fella, get us in the dance and get yourself some more AB's.

We will use each one of our 14 relievers in every game if we have to. Batter by batter. 3 vs PAW and 3 vs HAR at home. Everything is in our hands and we'll have a packed ballpark (with raised ticket prices of course...dynamic pricing FTW!)

2-5 as we had been long overdue for our Charlie Brown moment. We got shut out three times this sim, as the rookies look like they hit that "wall." Now three games back of Washington going into the final week (who incidentally threw 5 shutouts last week), we are already looking to rest the rookies, OF CJ Stripling and OF Eli Fernandez a bit since catching Washington will be neigh impossible when facing THAT rotation next week.

-I think the pressure just got too high for our rookies this past week. As mentioned earlier, Stripling and Fernandez both had horrible weeks going a combined, 4 for 42. On the bright side, they only struck out 4 times each so at the very least, it isn't a contact issue. Veteran hitters like Oscar Sanchez and Geoff Dicks will likely see a few more at-bats in the final week.

-Another instance of the rookies struggling with the pressure was the fact that rookie 3B Ethan Manning and OF CJ Stripling both got tossed (in two separate games) for arguing calls. I can't remember the last time we had two guys get tossed in the same week for arguing calls, but I guess it happens when that top gets put on the cooker.

We end the season with three in Washington and three at home vs. Batavia. I can see us having another tough week, maybe even conceding the #1 WC spot in the process. Regardless of the outcome, it would still be a very successful season and right now, I'm just hoping to stay healthy going into the playoffs.

I'm ready to see if we can play to our full potential once the playoffs roll around.

Holy hell, so much for playoffs. We've faded hard. Can we go back to June and July when we looked like a decent team? 7-15 in September. Ouch.

Washington has 4 of the top 6 starters in ERA and.....IP.

That's our only hope in the IL, guys. That these guys are actually human and do get tired eventually.

BTW, Villasenor is such a slacker.

I expected someone would submit a sneaky offer on Adrian Pulido in the last two weeks of the regular season. I've been checking his player negotiation page regularly to see if it happens.

                      It happened.

                      My guess would be Mike.

1st place in the Bock looks interesting. Phoenix 1 game back of WC but WC plays all of their games on the road, albeit Seatte and DVS. Could see some spoiler action?

No matter what happens in the final week, this has been a fun team to manage this season. Now up to 71.4% chance of claiming a playoff spot. Just a couple of SIMs ago that was in the 20's and a couple before that it was <5%. We're charging hard to the finish and we're playing about as well as any Philly team I've ever had this late in the season (prior playoff years we're normally limping into the postseason).

Bynum has been amazing, Evans is at peak form. Even Michie and Colovos are on the 'Who's hot" list. We don't score any runs, so we'll have to lean heavily on those guys in the final week.
