The M (Morla) and M (McGee) boys are hopefully back and will carry us offensively in the playoffs.

Hopefully now now we can hold onto our seeding and figure out how this playoff sim stuff works. I usually have a nice long break at this point.

Xavier Milledge has 34 homers and only seven doubles, which is bizarre.

Your team really struggles to make contact.

Another 4-2 week and now only a game out. Hard to believe we still don't have a 10 win pitcher. Really wish we had pulled the trigger on acquiring another arm at the deadline.

I spent some time looking at the Comet's season....

What a wild bunch. 1st in HRs, 2nd in SLG, 2nd in VBH but just 8th in Ks, 10th in walks and 14th in steals. No speed. No eye. Just a bunch guys swinging as hard as they can every time up. 10th in defense, 10th in bullpen ERA, no 10-win SP, but 3rd in HRA.

When the season's over and we've missed the final WC spot by a game or two, there will be plenty of moments to look back on with regret, but the 2 games we dropped at the end of the week vs CAR will be most recent in our minds. Game 2 of our 3 game set saw Pat Evans allow only 1 R over 7 IP while striking out 13, only to see the bullpen give it up in the late innings in a 4-2 loss. Game 3 was dropped 2-1 as the offense could just not solve young Norm Duckro. Our highwater mark for the week was 4 runs scored, in a game we lost.

3-3 on the week while scoring 2, 3, 3 in the three W's; 4,2,1 in the three L's.

                          Next SIM:

                          2 vs BAL

                          3 @ CAR

Complete bust. We'd be a completely different team if he developed like we thought he would.

I've had several recent pitching prospects who were first round picks ruined by one or more injuries. I feel your pain.
