Thought this was going to be a 2 day SIM? Showing Sept 6th as the date in-game. Anyways, we don't mind as we picked up 2 games in the Ale with two wins over Maine and a sweep of Wilmington.

The SIM was run for a full week. There was some brief discussion of a split SIM, but there didn't appear to be a huge appetite for it.

6-1 week but lost our team leader, Joey Walz, for 9 months. Injuries have hit us hard this season.

CJ Viger hit 7 HR this week. We've hit 202 as a team. If we continue at the current pace we'd finish with 237 HR which would be the 2nd most behind 2010 Pittsburgh who hit 241 HR.

          Thanks, Brad.

We probably weren't catching Toronto for the Ale title anyway, but the schedule made it even more unlikely. Just by virtue of the scheduling, the timing of both three-game series mean they get the top of the their rotation matched up with the bottom of ours. We were fortunate to take one game last week.

And now Rowles is hurt, because it's 2021 and it's what happens in Maine.

A 5-1 week is great, but we lost a game on the division lead because Baltimore is hot again now. It's going to come down to the last week here, and one of us is going to be pretty disappointed to be relegated to the wildcard round where anything can happen.

We lost a game when we didn't score in 14 innings, 1-0. After that, we won 5 straight. We even managed to win a one-run game, after 10 straight losses in those games. So nothing to complain about on the field for my team.

Ed Carroll continued to be dominant, throwing a 2-hit shutout against Davenport, dropping his ERA to 1.41. Still plenty of starts to go but he's having another pretty amazing season right now.

Dave Honea got to win #20, putting him just one win from tying the franchise record for wins. Roger Villasenor is also hot, so the pitching was great this week after a slight bump in the road last sim. We gave up only 8 runs in our 6 games this week. With 26 games remaining, we're well ahead of the pace to set a BLB record for fewest runs allowed as a team as well as lowest ERA. Still, a bad week or two could probably end that chase.

We hit okay this week. Dave Seibert has been great since coming over from Pitt. Jamie Urmson appears to be back to normal after being on the DL for about a month, and we've even managed to coax some offense out of our first basemen, helping to compensate for Yonke not being as great as he was in the first half.

Coming up, we hit the road for our last real road trip of the season. 10 straight on the road against division rivals. With only a one game lead, it'll be tough to still be atop the division when we get back to DC.

Pawtucket 2-4. Least Brendan Watts still cares.

Yes UMD...when your rebuilding Sept on is extremely boring.

Just a heads up, my offseason block is going to be fairly large. I know there wasn't a market for many of my guys during the deadline but I need to make some room for my young guys.

Our second 6-0 week in the last three weeks and with the undefeated week, we were able to cut Washington's lead down to one game in the Stout despite their 5-1 performance last week. We are playing about as well as we possibly can right now and I can't ask for much more from the guys.

-OF C.J. Stripling made his return this past week going 4 for 7 with a double and one stolen base, looking like a 20 year old should, bouncing back from that extended knee injury. Going forward, he will continue to be featured as the starting left fielder, but having veterans OF Dave Perkins and OF Oscar Sanchez gives us the flexibility to rest him and still feel like we have guys who can change the game with one good at-bat. However, we definitely should be a bit more dangerous offensively if Striping can move into the #2 slot and hit like he did earlier in the year.

-As a team, our pitching staff gave up just 5 ER in 6 games, which is a 0.83 ERA for the week. In four of our six starts, the starter went 8+ innings, including an impressive 5-hit, 8K shutout by SP Zack Cook. Our team ERA for the season currently sits at just a shade under 3.00 and while that will never compete as one of the best team performances of all time (if the season stopped today it would be #30), it could potentially be the best team pitching performance in Bulldogs' history.

-We called up bunch of reinforcements to help our cause and with 37 players on the roster, we are at least set with depth in case one of those crazy extra innings games pops up out of nowhere. There will be a few open spots in the bullpen next year, so guys who help us down the stretch will not be forgotten when 2022 rolls around.

-Liquid already touched on it, but it will suck for whoever has to fall into the wildcard spot. While our underrated play has been nothing short of amazing since May, we are not disillusioned enough to believe that we are likely to outplay the best rotation in history down the stretch. However, even with all of that being said, this is easily one of the best teams we've had and if anyone can outplay the odds, the 2021 Bulldogs have the chops to pull it off.

2-4 sim... but a 12-14 August was our best month.

I think we are going to pass Davenport and Los Angeles in the standings.

Davenport probably. Not so sure about LA. Actually think LA passes Pawtucket.
