Vinny DeMetz retires from AAA Reno after 10 seasons at age of 41. I'd retire #41 there if I could.

I'll leave it up to Brad as to how and when to run this week's end of August and beginning of September sims.

The default expectation is a seven-day sim on Tuesday morning, but maybe he wants to do something differently.
Brad? Where are you o' fearless leader?

Waived a bunch of vets (Kidwell, Scriber, Stidham, Gray) if you need help with no trade market they may be useful.

If I split it (if that's what y'all want) there will be a 2 day SIM Tuesday morning and then a 5 day SIM Thursday morning. Otherwise if we do full 7 (which I'm fine with) you still get a full 4 weeks of baseball with your callups.

Maybe just the holidays but if there is no desire for it, I'm good with just pushing through the seven days.

Danny García has been HBP 39 times in almost two years. Steve Suárez, a vet of 21 BLB seasons has only been hit 66 times. That's incredible. Garcia must be standing like on the plate

eh, looked at a couple more guys. Not that rare. Carry on

We face Johnny McDade on Tuesday.

In 357 plate appearances right-handed batters have taken against McDade, they have three walks versus 104 strikeouts.

Well 1-5 as we had probably the worst week of the season. The silver lining is that there is still a lot baseball left and we are only 2 back.

We also get Stripling back which could prove to be a huge addition if he can get back into his early season form as the playoffs come around.

I'm really happy with this sim. Mostly because of Tom Leslie. Ochoa is in the last year of his deal and is looking to jump from his $2.26 mil this year to $16.4 mil per over the next 5 years. That's just not going to happen in the Chi, so I was really hoping that Leslie would be able to come in and replace him. This sim was the call-up, and in one week of work Leslie went 7 for 10 with 2 doubles, 3 home runs, and 4 walks. Can't beat that with a stick. The two will split time for the rest of this season and hopefully Leslie will be able to slide right into a full-time starter role next season without us missing a beat.

Looking at the larger picture, we're 2 games up and have the easiest remaining schedule in the IL. Ratley and Kopp are back on the roster. We're optimistic.
