6-0 as we take the biggest lead in the Stout we've had all season, 2 games. I'm not sure what's going on in Washington, but I'll happy that the boys are taking advantage of their struggles. However, I'm not sure a 4-3 week really counts as struggling.

IF Geoff Perritt returned to the lineup after a bout of shoulder tendenitits that kept him out for the last three weeks. He showed no signs of rust though, going 11/20 with 2 home runs and 10 RBI en route to his 2nd IL POW (3rd of his BLB career) of the year.

I'm very proud of the way 1B D.J. Gosser has played even after getting his contract. He has shown zero drop off in production and put up a heck of a performance last week.

Our pitching staff produced a 1.83 ERA lead by 24 year old hurler, SP Jerrod Blick. Blick threw another gem last week vs. Davenport going 8.1 innings, with just 1 ER and 7 HA. This would mark the 13th time this season that the former Oregon State star pitcher pitched 7+ innings in a start.

Not to be outdone, 28 year old starter, Jimmy Cooper went 7 IP giving up 2 ER but sat down an impressive 13 Brawlers in the process. It doesn't seem possible for a guy that barely clocks 90 with any of his five decent pitches but from time to time, the Tennessee native and former NCAA Outstanding pitcher can be nearly un-hittable when his control is on.

We won't get too excited about a 2 game lead in the Stout because we know that Washington can get back easily. However, going into September with a 2 game lead is better than anything we'd hoped could happen to this point.

If Ed Carroll breaks Martin "Eager Beaver" Carltons Washington single season ERA mark.... I'll be sad.

Maybe because I inherited a sucktacular team, but I have had just as much fun, if not more fun, in tinkering with my farm teams.
I love watching guys develop, or tinker with new positions, lineups, etc.

I've been out of the race since January and I'm still having a blast.

I'm looking forward to rolling into September so I can call up a few of my AAA players.
I'm interested in seeing how Contreras will do.

I didn't realize that was in jeopardy. One bad start would basically end the chase though.

Top 3 ERAs in the league are in DC, with Carroll, Koehler and Honea. Jaylen Mitchell currently dragging down our starters ERA with his 2.40.

This is why we carry no sympathy for Washington. Lovable my ass. Nobody loves getting their asses handed to them by your all-world staff.

Seems like things haven't changed in DC as far as we are concerned despite the changes in GM. #parkfactors

I was sad to see him go! I had high hopes for him, but was tired of missing the playoffs.

Um... A lower payroll, way fewer picks, terrible fan interest, minimal major league talent, in a division with a powerhouse DVS squad, players that underdeveloped or flamed out...

                    Not too surprising.

                    You are in California, bro.

We've now lost 9 consecutive one-run games, helping to push us to a -14 difference between what our Pyt. record suggests we should be. That would tie the record for "unluckiest" team by that metric if it held, but we've got over a month to go to run up the tally there.

I'm still trying to figure out what's happened to some of the hitters on this team. To say Dave Schneider has been brutally bad the past couple months would be putting it kindly. Outside of Geoff Yonke, I'm not there's a hitter on this team that's having a good year. I'l just have to hope that they figure it out at some point.

On the plus side, out pitching still continues to roll right along.
Another plus, the utility only has you as -12.

Just as an aside I really regret including an opt-out in Rosaro's contract

He's not greedy, so you'll probably be able to give him an extension comparable to what you are already paying him.

                            No you don't.

I offered more salary but no opt out.

I know there is a lot of time left so anything can happen, but I'll be very interested in seeing how the "voters" pick awards without our intervention this year. DD at 1st base should be particularly interesting.
