2-4, lost a SP for three months.

But 1B Wescott resigned and mashed.

4-3, and we've surrendered the lead in the division. The way we've been playing, especially at the plate, I don't know that we've got a run in us. We've now lost 9 consecutive one-run games, helping to push us to a -14 difference between what our Pyt. record suggests we should be. That would tie the record for "unluckiest" team by that metric if it held, but we've got over a month to go to run up the tally there.

I'm still trying to figure out what's happened to some of the hitters on this team. To say Dave Schneider has been brutally bad the past couple months would be putting it kindly. Outside of Geoff Yonke, I'm not there's a hitter on this team that's having a good year. I'l just have to hope that they figure it out at some point.

On the plus side, out pitching still continues to roll right along.

I've got the same problem with the hitting bit... Maybe our hitters are partying together??

My version, Jimmy Boomsma, has a longer road but I'm hoping he can do that someday, too.

Yea after just one season of it, I realized that I was severely underrating the immense patience Spear must possess.

By year two, I'm like fuck this. I'm spending 30+MM per on the next good pitcher on the market.

You gotta find other things to enjoy. Development, for one.

The worst time was those early 2000s Bulls. We had no high picks. Nothing on the roster. I signed guys like Marv Goodman so I could follow his doubles and see if he could get to 60.

It got good again when we drafted McPherson. Someone to watch develop. And then the others followed. Been good with following development since, especially now that I keep my first round picks and use the late rounds for projects.

I hated when September came because the minors were over and it was two weeks in real time of sims with nothing to look forward to.
