1-2 vs. PHO, 1-2 @ WC - With Los Angeles going 5-2, Seattle now has a 4.5 game lead for the #1 pick. Yay.

The IL Wild Card race for #5/#6 looks like it should be pretty fun down the stretch. New York, Carolina, Batavia and Denver separated by one game as they battle for the final two spots.

We can't hit at all. I'm not sure what's happened the past few months, but we stopped hitting quite a while ago.

I think we might set the record for largest negative differential between our actual and Pyt. records. -12 now. Hopefully Urmson coming back will help get this thing going again.

Manny Becerra batted .500 in his first week as Guides shortstop. Encouraging performance.

SP Willie Olivas begins his rehab at AAA this week. It will be nice to have another starting pitching option again.

Pat Yahn returns to the Guides this week to pitch out of the bullpen.

You forgot to put Becerra as the starting SS in my LHP+DH lineup, but it didn't matter.

Appreciate all your hard work this sim.

3-4 but still only a 1/2 game back of Washington, so I'll take it.

If it comes down to Washington vs. Baltimore in the playoffs we'll put up a good fight, but we'd probably get swept. It seems our guys have to pitch a near perfect game against them to have an inkling of a chance to compete because we aren't going to score any runs. If we can sneak into the Stout title and let them duke it out against a WC or NY, that would be awesome.

I'm going to take one out of Arsene Wenger's playbook and say that although we didn't add anyone by trade, we do get All-Star infielder, 2B Geoff Perritt, back from injury this upcoming week. So that is like adding a new guy, right?

OF Antonio Ontiveros has been a complete disappoint since coming over from Pittsburgh. He's hitting .197 since making the switch and just .222 against LHP, which just putrid. I expected him come in and hold down the center fielding spot, but it looks like he's now going to be relegated to PT duties and may not find himself employed in Baltimore after this season.

Next week we host the high scoring Phoenix Roadrunners before heading to Davenport for three more finish out the week.

A 4-3 week for the Brawlers. Split a 4 game series with Windy City and took 2 of 3 from Denver. Curiously, 3 of our 4 wins was by the same 2-1 score. Meanwhile Jamie Hayden continues his campaign to be Rookie of the Year with another good week.

But the Freedom are playing good ball right now. Who knows.

Pawtucket was up against the DL division leaders and our record reflects it. 1-5, but hey good for draft position so we have that going for us....which is nice.

Dave Boeser is one of my favorite prospects I've ever had. He projects to be a plus defender at seven positions and hit capably.

                          And he is fast.

But my god, is he the worst base stealer I've ever seen.

At UCLA, he stole six bases in 11 attempts. That's a really bad rate. It only gets worse from there.

At single-A Barre, he stole four bases in ten attempts.

At double-A Bar Harbor, he nabbed six bases in 18 tries.

And at triple-A Portsmouth, he stole successfully three times in 15 attempts.

He has seven speed and supposedly rates a five at stealing bases ... but I don't see how.

The Marrero trade paid dividends this week, with the 2B going 11 for 27 with 2 doubles and 4 dingers. He's done very well offensively this month, and hopefully he can keep it up for the next couple of weeks. We lost Ratley for the next two sims, so we needed somebody to step up and be our power hitter.

Our next 12 games are against PHI, NY, and CAR. I'm hoping that we can end our interdivision play on a high note. We really need to catch up to Phoenix and win the Bock. We haven't fared well in the Wild Card round, and we're really hoping to avoid it this year.
