6-1, #1 in Power Ranking for the first time this year and ahead of Washington for first place in the Stout. A very unexpected, yet satisfying turn of events during a long road trip.

-This weeks performance was spearheaded by the play of 20 year old outfielder, CJ Stripling. Stripling went 12 for 27 with 4 doubles, 5 walks and just 3 strikeouts. When this kid finally adds a little power to the game, he may become one of the best hitters Baltimore has ever seen.

-Talking about the best hitter in Baltimore, 1B DJ Gosser has not slowed down so far this season and he's making an early case for IL Stout Slugger. I haven't signed him yet because I'm trying to find a deal that doesn't make me feel like I'm overpaying for a first baseman. But with the numbers he's putting up, should I keep waiting?

-We lost CF BJ Lumkowski for two weeks and we are going to miss his solid defense in centerfield. OF Pat Krebs will be taking over CF duties vs. RHP until BJ returns, while veteran OF Geoff "Rocket" Dicks has been temporarily recalled from Camden (AA) to patrol center field vs LHP.

-In positive injury news, veteran OF Dave Perkins will return to lineup after spraining his thumb and sitting out for a few weeks. We're happy to get him back and we'll have to be more careful with his playing time because I can see him being a very crucial piece to a potential playoff run.

-Our pitching staff has been nothing short of amazing. 5 of our 6 starters have ERA's below 3.30 and no bullpen member has an ERA above 2.90. #parkfactors

This season is going better than I could've hoped and I'm interested in seeing how far this team can go.

You have to get lucky on signings like this when you have 2 starters making over 50MM per combined.

The manager went with RH Norm Brown (starting in the 7th) to face three RHs. He's setup, set to 7th inning, so this role was performed correctly.

Then he went with Gerlach, to face a switch-hitter, who is much better against RHs than LHs. He gets the out. He's setup, set to 8th inning.

Then he went with Villalta, a RH MR, but who is also set to "high leverage" as his secondary role, to face RHs CJ Genuario and Jimmy Yenser.

He then brings in Berry, a LH MR, but who is also set to "lefty specialist" as his secondary role, to face the LH Miclissi.

          Few solutions:

You could remove Villalta from High Leverage secondary role and remove Berry from LH specialist. There are no guarantees, but I think in this same situation, with that changed, the manager would have let Gerlach complete the 8th inning, despite the LH-RH matchups. Even further, you could lower your strategy setting for substitution strategy > favor L/R matchup, moving it closer to don't care.

A separate solution, would be to change Ingle's usage option to 8th or 8th+. He has a 6 stamina and could easily have been brought in during the 8th if this setting was changed.
Good points bench coach. I was assuming that the roles took precedence over the high leverage, as Gerlach is a much better option. I was thinking the the primary role would trump the secondary roles, but apparently my manager and I don't see eye to eye on that issue.

3-4 week that wasn't really good anywhere. Takes us out of first place for the first time since the opening week.

We lost Urmson for 2-3 weeks this sim, so that's not great news for an inconsistent offense. Hopefully when Gomez gets here it'll give us a lift since 1B has been so bad. In better news, our (hopefully) 1B of the future Jimmy Harris keeps hitting in A ball.

Not much we can do if Baltimore is going to keep winning 75% of their games except tip our caps and congratulate them. They're a machine.

Just a game ahead. Our 15 minutes of fame before the real race starts after the All-Star game. I think this one will be a war of attrition. Whoever has the fewest injuries, will win the division.

Nah, it was actually mind control tricks. I set it up that way.
