    Seattle goes 0-6 at home.

Seattle is now 13-37, 6 games worse than Montreal/Death Valley.

I had my fourth player tell me they want to be traded.

Top prospect SP Tom "Domino" King has a hamstring strain and will miss the rest of the season.

Remember when the BLB was fun?

We fired Oscar Vasquez because even two ILCS runs can't offset 3 consecutive terrible early season starts. Kip Carr becomes our new manager, Brad Jackson moves from pitching coach to manager at AAA Reno, and former UCLA manager Atsushi Taniguchi takes over as pitching coach.

Marco Lona joins our AAA team with a chance to join Vegas if he can hit a little. 7.5 games out of the wild card this is my last chance move to right this ship before the AS break.

4-2 week for the Bats, keeping us 1 game up in the division. We lost the first two games of our series in Phoenix before our road trip mercifully ended. We came home to sweep Denver and hopefully regain our momentum that was lost on the road trip. We're still right there fighting for the best record in the BLB, and we're 36-13 Pyt, so hopefully our rough road trip won't be a sign of anything to come.

Ed Carroll threw 8 shutout innings against Denver, lowering his ERA to a BLB-best 1.10. Dave Koehler threw a complete game, giving up just one run on three hits. He's been a breakout player so far, with a 7-1 record and 1.75 ERA. He leads the league in K:BB.

At the plate, we were led by our two stars, Yonke and Roseboom. Yonke looks better than ever so far this season while Roseboom is playing up to the lofty rankings so far in this second full season. I'm still searching for more consistency from the rest of the lineup.

I like the "remember when you were good" over the BLB being fun.

I think everyone is better, you don't have the time you used to have, and all the "Pat" rules we have in place now killed your shenanigans.

I did too, but came off as arrogant.

I think the league is definitely it's most competitive and a big challenge is what brought me back.

I fully expect we will have a good sim now that it becomes June.

4-2 and we look like a damn good team right now. We can't seem to catch the Bats but to be able to keep pace with them going into the 3rd month of the season is very nice to see.

-The addition of SP "Hammerhead" Fajardo has catapulted us to one of the best (if not the best if you include #parkfactors) pitching teams, statistically, in baseball. The former DVS star pitched 9K, 2 hits, 2 walks, shutout vs Davenport last week that was the performance of the week for us in my opinion. To go along with that performance the league most expensive import, SP Alex Dominguez, was not too far behind him throwing 8.2 innings allowing just 2 ER, 5 hits to go along with 7 strikeouts. Combined they make over 50MM per year, but I'll pay for this kind of production from my 1a and 1b 10 times out of 10.

-As mentioned before, 1B DJ Gosser is negotiating a HUGE contract this year with his play. He's either 1st or 2nd in pretty much every offensive metric available but to be honest, I'm afraid if I give him the contract now he's going to stop playing at this level. While he definitely wants to win, I've seen him put it on cruise control a couple of times in his career so far and I'm worried he might do it if we sign him now. On the other hand, this is the best team we've had in a while so will he really jeopardize that by getting comfortable with the cash? We're playing a dangerous game, but hey what's the fun in playing it safe all the time?

Quietly, OF CJ Stripling is blossoming into a young star. The 20 year old Arizona native hit .432 last week and is actually OPS'ing over 1.000 for the month of May. He's quietly moved into the #2 spot and his ability to get on base or at least not strike out has made it increasingly difficult for pitchers to face Mr. Gosser 2 batters later. He hasn't even scratched the surface of his power potential yet. I look forward to seeing if he can start muscling a few out to right in Phillips Field in August, September, and hopefully, October.

I was going to end this recap with Stripling but I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't mention the play of OF Dusty Filar. The 29 year old had his 2nd multi-home run game of the season this past week and is desperately trying to show he deserves a place on this team going forward. He hitting over .370 on the year and last year, he played well during the 1st half of the season as well. However, after making an All-Star appearance he all but disappeared in the 2nd half. We'll have to see how he fares after July to even consider extending him at the price he is asking for.

All in all, I'm very happy with what we are putting together. Next week we host to teams that are no strangers to playing well in Phillips Field, Denver and Batavia. I can only hope our good performance continues into June.
