  • SIM COMPLETE - 1984 - Offseason 2

    Next sim: Thursday

The finances have been updated in game. They aren't updated in the html yet because I uploaded it before I made the changes.

There isn't much to do for this sim other than a last chance to re-sign players and start moving guys to your 40 man roster.

I didn't get exports from the following:

    Baltimore (wrong date)
    Dallas (wrong date)
    Hyundai (wrong date)
    Pawtucket (wrong date)
    Philadelphia (wrong date)
    Pittsburgh (wrong version)
    Windy City (wrong version)

Looks like MacKnight from Pitt got the biggest Arbitration deal ($7.2 million). That's pretty fat cash for arby.

I only had a couple guys eligible... but I was happy with the results. Oyos came in under $4.0 and McSwain, who wanted over $4.2 to resign for a 1 season, got under $2.0.
      The Great One!

      To many rings to count...

Just means the export was out of date. You probably didn't export for the last sim, correct?

I just wanted to post that so everybody can verify that they're up and running on ootp 9.

I know it doesn't seem right but it is actually bad when the arbitration awards come in lower than you expected since they are partially based upon ratings. It means that Oyos isn't as good as you thought he was, while MacKnight should be a stud for Pittburgh next season.

It would be interesting if they made arbitration like it is in real baseball, where the player and owner submits their respective salary figures and the arbiter choses one or the other. It would give us something to think about during the off season.

But it's also based on performance and because Oyos missed the beginning of the season, he simply didn't appear in as many games.

Their contract demands are a far bigger correlation to ability which, even after the move to 09, Oyos still wants close to $12.0 per.

The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a saved-game from an old version.

                    Any thoughts?

Not much going on for California this past sim... starting 3B Duane Cullins was given a 280K contract through arbitration... he put up slightly below average numbers this year... but enough that I thought he'd be well above the minimum. Looks like I might be shopping for a new 3B soon.

On the positive side, I now noticed I have seven players in the BA Top 100.

That's weird mine said out of date...I did export for the first sim and the last sim. The first one I think went through ok since I wasn't on that list of people who's exports you didn't get.

Right but his performance is known; the only unknowns are his ratings. So if his arbitration salary comes in less than you expected it is either because you don't understand how the game makes these calculations or he is worse than you thought he was. For a smart and attentive owner like yourself, the latter possiblity seems far more likely.

As far as 09 is concerned, lots of players demand far more than they are worth on extensions, completely meaningless is his $12 mil salary demand. The best course for you is to trade Oyos while he still has some value and BTW, I am interested.
