Take SP Fred Gerlach from the high school ranks. It's been a while since I've drafted a HS pitcher early in the draft (last was Ian Daley). However, I felt like he's good value in the middle of the first round. My scout thinks he'll be a frontline starter. Has four good pitches, good injury history, and good endurance. The only negative is his crappy HS stats- this pick is much more about projection. OSA seems to really like him as well which is reassuring. He was pretty high on my board. With Elijah Reilly last year and now Gerlach, I'm rolling the dice with some very young talent. Gotta be patient.

I really blew that one.
I think I could have gotten Goins in the 2nd or 3rd round.
But I was drinking Zinfandel with my main woman watching '13 Reasons'.

Make your pick.
EDIT: and now I see you picked Evans! You are now my enemy. Not #1, but ahead of Indy. You should be proud of that.Brewers League Baseball
