While he lost a lot of his ability years ago, he didn't have a really bad season until he was 42. Then he bounced back decently at 43 and 44. Now at 45 he was terrible and sadly went down for 2 months with a week to go in the season, which also means he's going to miss the post season.

He signed an extension. I hope he comes back.

I bring this all up because Hernandez hasn't had his truly horrible season yet and you're going to be sad you didn't wait to see when it happens.

Steve Suares is more impressive IMO. 42 soon, wrecked but with no decline at the plate, glove or bases.

I'm not trying to jinx it.

Getting out of the IL is hard enough but with the DL looking even deeper, it's still a dice roll.

I just think this might be the best Opening Day roster in DC in 20 years.

I'm not convinced Steve Suarez isn't Father Time himself.

It's amazing no one on your team ever gets hurt.

Meanwhile we lost our #1 pitcher for 4 months though.

When fucking Dave Seibert bats eighth, you feel like your lineup must be pretty fucking strong.

Our offense is going to look different this year- big changes include top 100 prospect Jamie Watson winning the starting catcher job out of ST. Masao Nara will be in the lineup against both lefties and righties- he's going to be playing 3B and RF for us this year.

                        Most likely will roll with:

                        C- Watson
                        1B- Norman/Gugliotta platoon
                        2B- Ortiz
                        3B- Nara/Baber
                        SS- Baber/Bryce
                        LF- Romero
                        CF- Peller
                        RF- Hiraguchi

Not a bad group- hoping, if they stay healthy, that I get 20+HR from Romero/Hiraguchi/Nara/Baber/Norman this year.

Pitching wise no big change to the starting rotation other than the fact that the majority of the staff is locked up for the next several years. The bullpen is going to be nasty. Poppino/Portillo/Ortega have a chance to get 300 Ks between them if they stay healthy.

Pawtucket pre-season saying bottom of the barrel. Sadly this was to be expected.

Some good news is CJ Simmons, Marco Carrasco, Dave Roper all got some starts this spring training and will now head to AAA Lynn until June. When they finally arrive I expect some growing pains, but happy were starting to get younger across the board.

On the farm we have some nice mid-rotation back end starters, just no ace. Hitters.....well my scout likes 5-6 guys, but not so much the OSA top 100. Not panicing yet as rebuilding can be a long journey, but its something we need to address in the next 2-3 drafts.

Goal is 63+ wins and avoid 100 losses,

Oh I really don't. I truthfully think its gotten a bit worse. I think I have some nice players in there. In the "real world" its actually a useful tool.

I think OSA is a nice snapshot of what OSA thinks at the moment so long as you understand OSA likes to change its mind.

It's rarely wrong about great players. But will ignore some great ones too. It's just another tool. Don't ignore it completely but don't rely on it completely either.

                                It's still saying something.
