I heard his eyesight is crap.

BTW, my export is in, so feel free to sim the first round. ;)

Congrats to all the playoff teams. Good luck and I hope all your players contract gonorrhea (which they could depending if Flores gained access to the Wives seating area).

And thanks to the commish team. As always, you guys do a tremendous job!

As for Batavia we limp into the postseason with a 1-5 week as we blow the division. We had over 500 days of players being on the DL this season...anybody have more? I don't think so. We could have had a heck of a year if we stayed healthy. Them's the breaks though. Congrats to Washington.

I've been extraordinarily lucky with injuries this season. CJ Turnbow was the only player on my 25 man roster to see the DL this season, and that only happened this past sim. I've had some tough breaks with injuries the past few seasons, but it's just luck they haven't bit me this year. I kept believing that we'd eventually take over the division with your injuries, but your team did an amazing job winning close games (21-3 in extras, 40-17 in one-run games) so we never could. Great job by your team to keep it together.

The combination of injuries and terrible record in class SE games should've had us sitting at home.

Well crap. The last post I saw was about a live sim this evening unless anyone objected. Figured I'd have time after work today to set things up after being away all weekend.

You won all our deals this offseason. Figured you'd knock me off too. Now you just get the higher pick and we get the boot.

I mentioned this before but it is my guess that popular players don't effect fan interest directly anymore. It looks like it is now a modifier of how quickly fan interest rises WHEN YOU WIN.

I live in Sacramento now. Last year, the Kings had Rudy Gay, DeMarcus Cousins, and Rondo and Ty Lawson, all relatively popular players but since the Kings sucked their attendance was 19th in the NBA.

Just acquiring a player isn't enough. Winning is the driving factor....as it should be.

Conversely how quickly do you think attendance was affected once Cousins was traded?

It's been changed but I don't think Markus and Co have explained how exactly.

The consensus, last I checked, is fan interest doesn't jump immediately, instead it's a gradual climb to where it would be in older versions.

A lot of what Delandis said. Merely confirming it's what others say too.

SO basically in the real world teams don't acquire popular plays in order to boost ticket sales?? Lol are you actually implying winning is the ONLY reason fans come out. Oh boy the poor national league is divided into two tiers today. Teams going for it and teams tanking. Attendance will I'm sure suffer just a bit, but this is entertainment so not everyone in sports wins. If your team has players who are popular you do receive at least a small bump initially THEN as you suck it should drop. In this version your not even getting the small bump. Once again your talking life long Cubs fan and the interest was mostly high this decade.

                            Sorry, not buying this one.

I feel like there should at least be a small boost to popularity / fan interest when a popular player is brought in. If the team doesn't win, then it goes back down. If I'm going to take a hit when Dave Lippert signs with another team in June, there should be some increased interest if I acquire one of the best players in the league.

I imagine New Orleans fans were pretty excited to see their team trade for Cousins, to use the example you did. I don't think that fans were in a "wait and see" mode when LeBron jumped from Cleveland to Miami or back to Cleveland. Sure, losing will eventually take it's toll, but I'd think there would at least be some initial boost.

RF Israel Morales a two time Brewmaster Champion , not sure how many Allstars, loved from his days playing in Pawtucket was brought in late June to give our offense a "boost" It was late June and technically we could of gone on a run so why wouldn't the Pawtucket fans see this as management trying to win games?? Whats silly is when I've thought about releasing the legendary P Jayden Brown (Popular) off our team the exit shows a -5 fan interest drop. 4 years career .1 WAR.

                                Make no sense.
