2020 Regular Season SIM 25 Complete - Next SIM Monday 3/27
Very bad week... We are not Hollidays yet Sharks!!! We need to finish this off!!! Starting for securing the #1 DL Seed!! We need 2 more Ws for that, playing against California who are playing for the last wild car spot and Morgantown... At least we are playing at Home, I hope we can go over this slump.
Miami Sharks (BLB) * BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.
5-2 and oh how I wish we could place September call-ups on a playoff roster. I may want to appeal for that this off-season, we'll see.
OF C.J. Stripling looks like the REAL DEAL. The kid has revived our offense. So far, the 19 year old from Phoenix has gone 18 for 40 with 3 doubles, 3 home runs and 19 RBI. The September slash for this kid, .450/.488/1.238 and obviously adding a bat like that, makes a world of difference in an offense.
1B D.J. Gosser was not to be outdone by the newcomer though. The switch-hitting native New Yorker, hitting .393 on the week with 2 home runs and 5 RBI. When you have such an amazing year like Gosser did in 2019, 2020 seems like a "down" year but I'm not complaining at all about the consistency of our 26 year old, star first baseman.
Another player who has impressed me has been SP Jaylin Byrd. Before the All-Star break had pitched in 18 games with a 4.76 ERA, had given up 20 home runs and was on the verge of being demoted to AAA. However since the All-Star break, the 26 year old lefty has had a 2.15 ERA in his 9 starts with just 5 home runs allowed and been a steady rotation contributor to our push for the playoffs.
All in all, I can't complain about our performance last week. We were able to sweep Batavia in our 2 game set against them, sweep Carolina at home and leap frog DVS out the wild card spot that will have to face Washington or Batavia in the Wildcard round. With our final 6 games to be played at home in Phillips Field vs. NY and Philly, we even have an outside chance to bring a wild card series home to the friendly confines.
I'll channel my inner-Shark and say, "Can we fire this thing up TODAY?!!!!"
This is hopefully the beginning of a beautiful decade.
Congrats, sir. Although I too find it hard to believe you have 5 starters with double figure home runs and yet, you are 11th in the IL in home runs? That's a really strange stat.

I've thought about this as well, but then I looked and it's really because we don't have a big time home run threat on the team.
Batavia also has 5 regulars with double digit homeruns but they ALSO have 42 from FF.
Death Valley has 7 in double digits with TJ Dunn hitting 31.
Windy City has two closing in on 30.
If Pelloni is a 40 home run guy, we would be 5th in the league.
