              Perfect sim... for my opponents.

My manager went into Full Retard mode this week

He kept throwing Tom "The Asshole" Parker on the mound.
              His line?
              3 games in a row, he pitched 0.2, 0.1 and 1.1 giving up a combined 6 hits, 6 earned-runs and 2 HR's for a nice 12.46 ERA on the week.

Yet, Happy Jack, aka Norm Winters, kept tossing him out there.

A 5-1 week that sees us lose ground.

Mike Morla continues his march toward garnering serious consideration for his first ever Stout Slugger. After a slow, agonizing start, he has been in full on beast mode for the last half of the season. Since August 1st, in the heat of a pennant race, he has batted 0.395, with 16 home runs, and 36 RBI, with a middling lineup around him. After winning player of the month in August, he had another great sim with a 0.455 AVG, 4 home runs, and 9 RBI.

Good thing this GM didn't panic and trade him halfway through the year.

Well, that wraps up Adrian Pulido's tenure with Philly. Hate to see a player like him suffer such an injury at this point in his career. There's a good chance he's done in the BLB. He turns 38 in December; he'll be out another calendar year, meaning he'd be 39 before trying to make a comeback. How likely is that?

La de da. Can we hold on? Division is improbable which is too bad. We should've been a better team on paper. I don't think this version change helped my style of play.

In games decided by two runs or fewer in September, we have two wins and eight losses.

In one-run games, it's even worse. We're winless in five of them.

That's been the tale of the tape for us this month.

A 3-3 week where every loss was by 1 run and 2 of the losses were taken into extra innings with New York.

It's becoming increasingly evident that we NEED to pass DVS for that 3rd playoff spot. I think we can play well enough to win a series against DVS or the Big Apple, but we aren't beating Washington. So if we want a couple more games of playoff revenue, we need to pick it up for the final two weeks.

We've had the 3rd worst record in the IL since the All-Star break and the difference is that we just aren't winning the close games on the road anymore. It's too late to really do anything about that so we'll just have to hope that Ismael (our manager) knows what he's doing down the stretch.

I cringed watching the final game against Carolina as I saw SP Zack Cook and 2B Pat Bryan were both pulled due to an injury. Cook was particularly worrisome because of his "Fragile" tag and Bryan because he's been battling muscle strains for a good part of the 2020 season. In the end it looks like Zack just had a finger blister and will just have to pitch later in the week but Pat Bryan is gone for the year, unless we make a deep playoff run. His ability to play everyday at second base, against any level of pitcher this year will be missed just as it was when he was injured in June.

19 year old outfielder, C.J. Stripling continues to impress in limited action. In 20 at-bats the kid has 9 hits, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 9 RBI with 1.250 OPS. Again, I understand that this is a very limited sample size but the talent is definitely there. It will be hard to keep him down in AAA for the upcoming season, especially if the kid can get a bit more experience in the outfield during 2021 Spring Training. He could be an everyday starter at 20 years old. It is a shame that I didn't promote him earlier as he looks like he would've been a nice addition if we are lucky enough to squeak into the playoffs.

Going forward, we end the season with the most favorable home schedule in the BLB with 10 of the last 13 at home. 85 wins would be a successful season in my book and 8-5 to close the year isn't an overly ambitious expectation. Obviously, these first four games against the IL's two best teams are going to play a big part in whether or not we make the playoffs.

A 5-1 week keeps us in the Stout race, but we're going to need Batavia to cool off at some point. We're still 3 games back, and our series with them to end the season is at their place. We did clinch our playoff spot this sim, and look to at least be the top Wildcard team but I really don't want to be in one of those series.

Yonke had a good week, as did Turnbow. Outside of those 2, we didn't do a whole lot at the plate. We're going to need some of the hitters to get hot to make this interesting in the division. Bruce Gonzalez picked up a day-to-day injury, but thankfully it won't be a long-term thing.

Ed Carroll had another dominant start, 8 innings of shutout ball against Carolina, giving up just 2 hits. He's having a really, really good season. Some of my other starters have struggled a bit lately, but Dropkick has just been a machine.

Seven games coming up this week. 2 at home against Baltimore, then on the road to New York and Philadelphia. We'll need another really good week.
