After suffering through a 21 game losing streak this week we managed to put a 4 game win streak together to finish the week. Lost 2 to Washington to start the week but then had a win against Washington and took 3 in a row from Batavia. It's amazing how much a winning week can lift your spirits even if you are so far behind the leaders they are about to lap you.

Watch out, boys. We have a race in the Bock. All I hope for each year is to have a shot at the division going into September. This'll be the third year in a row that we have a legitimate shot at winning it. Hopefully we can capitalize better than the last two years, where we failed to impress.

In the shorter term, we have a tough series against Washington to end our road trip before hosting Batavia, Philly, and Washington to end our interdivisional season. DVS has a similar schedule while Denver plays against NY, Baltimore, and Carolina. The obvious bet would be that we go into the final stretch with some ground to make up.

In the win column, Fred Ratley is finally playing up to his potential. He's got 27 HRs and a .833 OPS on the season. He's also got a positive zone rating. He should be getting even better going forward, but after his disappointing stints the last two seasons it's good to see him finally making a positive impact. He's actually playing better in the BLB than he ever did in the minors. Not too surprising since we fast tracked him through our system, but nice to see nonetheless. With Ratley and Gray anchoring our lineup we should be able to produce some runs for the foreseeable future.

Well then you have to keep in mind the winning records against teams in the Ale are small samples as well.

Then don't play up your "success" against the entire division.

You're the one who introduced the stats, not me!

Speaking of stats with large samples, you have the ninth-best offense out of fourteen teams in the league. Ninth! Get back to me when your team starts hitting the ball out of the infield.

But you just said you beat all the big teams in the Ale??? Your argument sort of fell on itself.

Fact is the Ale has been this way in most years since the 90's . We've done realignment and doesn't matter. Anything is possible come playoff time, but I agree with Mike on this one. Paper tiger.

Shark talk to me when your 9 hitter has 5 WAR - almost 20 dingers and batting .320 plus.

Your team is the only one that can reign the DL long term... You have got a very young squad, not like Z and his ancient one...
