Good week for the Bats. We came home to start a big stretch of games in DC and went 6-1, with a sweep of Seattle and took 3/4 from Los Alamos.
This was easily the best week I've had from my lineup. We hit .317 as a team with a .920 OPS, so that's great to see. Pretty much good performances all around from the lineup. After a really slow start, Bruce Gonzalez is doing well at 3B. I do wish he'd hit for a bit better average, but his eye is really helping us. 8 walks in 15 plate appearances this week. Geoff Yonke has been fantastic since we traded for him. He wasn't quite as good this week, but he did have one huge moment - a game tying 3-run HR with 2 out in the 9th against Seattle. We'd win it 2 innings later.
We haven't been dominant on the mound lately. Carroll has fallen off the past couple of months, as has several others. Jaylen Mitchell has been great, but he's battling a day-to-day injury at the moment so I'll have to be careful with that.
Our homestand continues this coming week. 3 games each against Batavia and New York, all in DC. We're a game off the division lead at the moment, so we've got an opportunity coming up. It won't be easy though, it feels like everyone in the Stout has the same week all the time. Just no separation between us.
