OOTP 9 Conversion/League File

Good points- I've been just briefly looking at the OOTP boards and it seems like hidden players still isn't 100% solid yet.

I'm confused on money already (although I do like the new front office screen). I tried offering an extension to one of my guys (to see what it would say I have for extensions). It said I don't have anything. However, under the 'available funds' tab it says "$ for free agents" and has $16 million and then has $0 for extensions.

Any idea why it separates my money like that? Why can't I spent it how I want?

Also, any idea where they came up with $16 million for FAs? I see $91 mil as current budget, $84 mil as current payroll...so how do I have $16 mil for FAs? I'm definitely not complaining just trying to figure it out.

$ for Extensions = Current budget - staff/scouting expenses - projected 1985 payroll.

$ for FA's = Starting balance (leftover cash from last season) + Available Budget room

The difference is the $ for FA's lets you use cash while $ for extensions doesn't. This will be changed in the next patch so it will let you use cash for extensions as well.

FYI, there is a problem with the current budgets and media contracts. I forgot to set the media contract length to expire so some of the market size changes didn't take effect. I will make this change during the next sim but will post the #'s here when I figure them out.

EDIT: Alright, I got it. I had to download the whole OOTP9 file and overwrite my existing file for it to work. Try that Riverman.

I did download the whole OOTP 9 file again to bring my version up to 9.1.6 but I am not sure what you mean by "overwrite my existing file". Could somebody please provide insturctions for this procedure and make them idiot proof, if possible.

I'm having the same problem with world.dat, and I've done all the steps I've seen in here.

Open OOTP 9 and use the "IMPORT" function to bring your WORLD.DAT file over. Once that is done, follow Andrew's directions from earlier with the league file. That SHOULD do it.

I don't think so. World.dat is there. It sounds like chippered had the exact same problem and fixed it. So I guess he will explain how he did when he comes by.

Hey guys, was busy today, so I couldnt get on.

First, I downloaded the patch for OOTP9 and the new league file. Tried opening the game, but it wouldnt work.

So, then I just downloaded the whole game, which is already updated. This gave me the setup file on my desktop. I opened the setup and ran it all the way through, which updated everything I already had. Tried opening the game and this time it worked.
