The fix for this problem has been well understood my OOTP experts for quite awhile. All of these experts recommend benching a couple of your best players and moving your top starters to the pen for a sim or two.

In your case, you should probably bench Latham and Tandy, while replacing Nathan, Lillie and Dallyn in your rotation with, say, Cordoves, O'Duffy and maybe Joy, all from your AAA team. I know this seems counter intuitive but as I understand it is necessary from time to time to motivate a slumping team.

I think he was surprised that you were so disrespectful of the approach all of the OOTP experts take in bringing their teams out of slumps.

My comment had nothing to do with the respect or disrespect of the expert's analysis. The idea that to improve team play and make a true run for a playoff spot, I should take out all of my top run producers and top pitchers is just ass backwards(or counter intuitive as Riverman put it), regardless of its effectiveness.

Also keep in mind that there are only two more sims left and the thought that any pro team should reach to AAA, and call up weaker talent and rely on them to make the push for the playoffs in the final two weeks is not even close to realistic or hell, just logical for that matter.

Actually it felt like the Mets did it last year with about 17 games to go. They've definately done it this year with their bullpen. I'm still waiting for them to call back up the solid arms...
